    Here is a link showing exactly that. Oddly enough, the debt as compared to the GDP was at its lowest at the end of the Carter administration.     Elliptical canopies are not as "turn resistant" during deployment. They often want to "fall off" to one side or the other, creating what can quickly develop into a turn. Also, most jumpers load elliptical canopies heavier than squares. This tends to amplify anything a canopy does naturally, including turns during deployment. This is especially true as loadings reach ultra-high performance levels, say 2:1 and up. However, don't over think it. Here's the way I've packed for 24 years (small velo included), and I didn't pack my main on any of my 7 reserve rides. Clear the lines from links to canopy. If the lines are straight and properly stowed, the canopy will open. Keep everything symmetric from left to right. This helps keep a turn from starting in the first place. Keep the brake lines on the top of the stack at all times. Shove the shit in the bag. They're all trash packs when they come out anyway. Yes, I'm serious. Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

    Is the main container particularly tight? I know of cases of a temp-tows from low airspeeds and tight containers, although a third factor is usually a ragged out pilot chute. If that's the case, just wait a couple extra seconds before pitching out. Even a small increase in airspeed will create more snatch force on the pin when the bridle reaches full extension. Conversely, spending $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts and $4.2 billion for “neighborhood stabilization activities” (can you say ACORN) is idiotic when times are good, and absolute lunacy given the country's current financial situation. Most of the stimuloot package is nothing more than a payback to those who got Obama elected. $260 million for Hollywood movie houses for film?     The more things change, the more they stay the same. I went through my AFF evals in 1991. At that time there were 2 course directors in the entire world (and the entire world used our AFF evals). EVERY candidate was taught that we do not fail students, we simply don't pass them yet. AFF is self paced. There are no failures. The course is crawl, walk, run. Students should revel in their successes and be challenged by their weaknesses. I like your response to students who need more work. I used to use "let's knock out the rest of the TLO's of that level", implying they didn't fail, but simply didn't complete the TLO's. That way they just "didn't finish".
