According to the CIA... Well, it MUST be true then. The CIA never lies or deceives. When you don't have a valid reply, just use some sarcasm. Liberal playbook page 164. Actually that information came from declassified internal CIA documents, so I guess if they were lying it was to themselves. Hmm. Must be true then, since the CIA has NEVER engaged in any kind of deception. Bridge for sale, cheap. You're repeating yourself. But that's what happens when you have nothing new to say. According to the CIA, KSM gave up information on a 9-11 style attack on Heathrow airport in London, a hijacking and destruction of 12 airliners over the Pacific, and an attack on Los Angeles International airport. He also coughed up (excuse the expression) information on as many as 70 al-Qaeda operatives around the world. All three of those attack plans were later confirmed with the arrest and interrigation of terrorists that KSM outed. Any more questions? Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

Same reason you take your kids to visit the nice people in the neighborhood on Halloween, but skip the house of the angry, crazy whack job down the street: who wants to get an apple with a razor blade? So the people at Fox are a danger to B.O.??? Man, you guys are running out of argument. A sincere leader is able to participate in debate on the issues. Mr. Obama doesn't do that. Instead, he makes appearances only on "friendly" networks where he can use his airtime to continue his sales pitch unchallenged. That's called propapganda. Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

That's funny. Waterboarding (if you choose to consider that torture) made KSM sing like a bird about future attacks that were later confirmed and thwarted. Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

He is. How else is he supposed to get his message across to a populace whose primary interest is entertainment? You gotta be kiddin'. Have you seen Letterman's ratings? If he's trying to hit the biggest audience (read biggest ratings), why did he go on 5 talking head shows last Sunday and skip Fox, Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

It hasn't been called the Emergency Broadcast System for years. It is called the Emergency Alert System, and the requirements on when it is to be used are much looser than under the old EBS. The EAS is designed to utilize technology to pinpoint broadcasts to specific areas. I have no idea if it was put to work during the 911 attacks, but if it was, it would have only been in the areas authorities believed needed it, not the whole country. FYI, many radio stations aren't even required to broadcast the basic severe thunderstorm warning any more. The legal requirement for those stations is to simply log that they got the warning through their EAS equipment. Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

And giving it to the government to run and control is a good answer? Hell, those self-serving idiots have already bankrupted social security, the two "Medi's" are in trouble - hell even the stinkin' post office is on track to loose $7 billion this year alone! Everything the government does - with the possible exeption of runnig a military - is f*cked up. Our healthcare system is damned expensive, but it's also some of the best in the world. Even leaving it alone would be better than letting the government run it. Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

Same thing happened quite a few years back with a TI in Texas. She got distracted during her exit count and double-clutched her exit, loosing her vidiot in the process. So she exited, took a delay on the drogue, then just kept on going. Same deal at the bottom. She went through the handles but too slow to beat the AAD. She never did have a good explanation. Not sure there is one. Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

Carter is among those who believe there must be large-scale racism in the US. Facts don't inhibit their views. They just haven't figured out that the vast majority of us - black, white and everything in between - are past it. Wish B.O. and his followers would figure that out, too. Oh yeah, and Carter's a freakin' idiot. But we all knew that. Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX

sony cx100 (105 europe) settings
chuckakers replied to davidfreefly's topic in Photography and Video
I'm shooting a .3 on a CX100. I can't think of how darned close I'd have to shoot before infinity would pull things out of focusk. Even at infinity, I would think things should be in focus down to a few inches. Or is video different than photography in that respect? On the other hand, if I focus at 2 or 3 feet, will that pull the background out of focus, or will the depth of field of the .3 fix that? Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX -
sony cx100 (105 europe) settings
chuckakers replied to davidfreefly's topic in Photography and Video
Hey DSE - quick question. When you set the focus to manual, do you need to first auto-focus on something far away to insure the lens is focused at infinity (like the "infinity" setting on many cams), or is it not necessary? While I have you, do you happen to have a list of best practices settings for Sony Vegas in a typical tandem operation set-up? Thanks for the help - as always! Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX -

At least they are cleaning their own house. Excuse me???? Cleaning house AFTER being made isn't cleaning house, it's political backpedaling and attempted ass covering. What's next? Are you going to say Van Jones is out because B.O. didn't like his taste in green? Glenn Beck is just f*ckin up yer day, ain't he? I think the President is forgetting that the past is exceedingly easy to dig up these days. And man, what a past he has in this US of KKKA And the fun is only beginning... Why is anyone listening to the republicans?

Funny. You could replace "republican" with "democrat" and your statement would be just as true. I say fire 'em all. Pitchfork anyone? Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX -

Sure, as long as they give up their tax-exempt status. How many have done that? Wrong. There is no law that keeps a church - tax exemption and all - from taking part in the political process. In fact, it is a staple in many black churches. Go to a black church during election time. You'd think you had walked into a DNC rally! How is it you guys can't get through your heads that the constitution does NOT say you can't mix religion and politics. It only says the government - not the people - won't respect the establishment of any religion. Keep in mind that it also says the government won't restrict the free exercise thereof. You can't take religion out of politics any more than you can take ANY special interest group out of politics - nor should you. Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX
