I'm so sorry to hear that Zen. Take some time, have some fun and be careful. It's hard to be tough when you need to when you still care about the person, but it will bite you in the backside if you don't do what's necessary. It seems to always get dirty at some point. That's pretty cool Carrie. The only thing is I'd think that perhaps it could be altered a little if there were someone especially close to the person who went in, that they would be who got it rather then just the first person who approached. I definately would want Merrick's if, God forbid, it happened to him.

Why does anyone wear any jewelry? If I'm going to wear a necklace it might as well be one that represents something I'm passionate about (rather then hanging Merrick's d*** around my neck, this is the next best option ) Besides, it makes people ask sometimes too, which gives me the opening to chew their ear off about jumping (poor unknowning fools!) hehe

That is also why Merrick handles the checkbook and bill paying He is VERY much like you and frets over a few pennies! Maybe you can have someone else double-check you? Sometimes if you stare at it too long you just can't tell...you miss obvious things... Was it all good last week when you checked? If so...then it has to be within the last week right?

This thread kinda went in a weird direction...insurance! BUT..I'm gonna bitch for a minute (it's what I do best after all ). I'm attempting to get the $500/mo insurance (just sent in the stuff today) through BCBS (because it's most widely accepted around here). This is my first time buying insurance privately, not getting in through mine or my spouse's employer. It's friggin pissing me off! My son had heart surgery at 10 days old so, even though he's been fine now for nearly 7 years, he has a 'pre-existing condition' and I'm awaiting to see if they'll even accept him! They say even if they do they might have all these 'exceptions' to what they'll cover. He has to get checkups for his heart every two years, which is coming up next month, and I'm getting this crap from the insurance company. Basically, pay me a lot of money, but if there's any chance you might actually NEED the insurance you're paying for, we don't want ya! And we all know what kind of help he'd get if we went in without insurance and they saw something wrong (not like I expected them to find something last time...one minute it's checking a 'regular heart murmur that he'd probably grow out of'...the next it's "he's about to die, we have to lifewatch him for surgery now to the best children's hospital in the nation" ) So...anyway, thanks for letting me rant.

Yup, we went for our anniversary yesterday and it really was a great movie. Skydivers tend to pick apart skydiving scenes in a movie, and I'm sure all the other stuff he did, motorcycles and such, will be picked apart by people who know some about that...but it's a movie. It wasn't as lame as some of the other jump scenes in other movies where they were in freefall for like 10 mins! The chick is hot, and Diesel is REALLY hot (especially good for those of us who can appreciate both physiques ). Some of the lines were cheesy, but overall I really loved it!

I sincerely doubt that. I am currently paying for my own health insurance (damn temp job) and it is just under $50 a month.

That's Merrick and I. We want to be in a place when the kids are grown in about 10 years to be able to just live however we want..preferably in a RV we can travel from DZ to DZ in ..working as we go if necessary. We've already told the kids they'll have to 'find us' to visit us after they're in college One thing I've learned is things can change from day-to-day. One day I was out-of-work and the next I was not only hired but working. I was almost ready to sell my rig to help get us by until we found jobs just the night before!! One minute Merrick had the best job and I was working crap stuff, the next the IT market went to hell-in-a-handbasket and I have the good job. Who cares? It's life. Lots of stuff is going to happen between now and the end. I've had really good financial times, and really bad ... it's all cycles except for the very rich. What's important is that you're happy with who you are and who you're with :) Gawd, that's about as philosophical as I can stand to get this early in the morning!
