Forgive my ramblings, to begin with...a couple of drinks on a lot of work hours tends to make one 'philosophical' all of a sudden. I want to express my thanks to a certain person, who will remain nameless unless he/she so chooses to identify 'themself' whom touched me deeply and really made my day. First thing this morning, while getting ready for work, Merrick yelled for me to come see something on the computer. He was checking PM's and had a message from another fantastic friend who still amazes me by his ability to be so down-to-earth and kind despite being absolutely bad-ass, who told him we had jump tickets waiting from us from a very close, dear friend whom we've never even met in person. I know that our 'family' of skydivers is a close-knit one but this kind of generosity not something I see often anywhere in life. This person bought a ticket for myself, Merrick and our mutual 'bad-ass friend' because he/she knew that we were trying to be careful with funds with our current situation, using whatever extra for school clothes, things the family needed and so-forth. He/she not only recognized and empathized with our situation, he/she did something about it by offering such a grand gift. I'm truly touched, especially coming in a time that has been particularly difficult for us. I don't know what more I can say, but thank you to our friends here, and overseas . I love you guys!! Blue skies all and thanks for allowing me this moment of 'frou-frou' girlie stuff

I'm home drinking and posting...where are you?? On the upside, working all weekend because of a deadline on a huge lawsuit we're doing at work, so he's giving us next Friday off for a three-day weekend to make up.

Gotta love the East Coast! Just saw this on another forum for the area: Does anyone else have WOW in their area? We have this thing called Whip it Out Wednesday. It is from some radio show that I can’t pick up to well. But you get a bumper sticker with WOW in big yellow letters on it. On Wednesdays when you see this sticker you are supposed to flash the driver. I see it on buses, trucks, and motorcycles. I do my best to support this cause. Was just wondering if ya’ll have this where you are? We should have these people as jumpers so we can get more alti I'm thinking!! The more the merrier eh?

I fully intend on doing a nekkid jump for my 100th. It's certainly taking me long enough to get there...it shall be celebrated!!!

Oh this is such a big thing for me right now!! When Merrick and I first started, we did the conservative thing, jumping just a little each month too. It severely screwed up my progression being basically uncurrent each time I came back 3 weeks later to do one jump. Bad move. Then after he sold his motorcycle to help buy gear, we though "YEAH! Now we'll be set." (also used cards of course to pay for it). But small DZ, small plane, a lot of waiting, so not a lot of jumps, but good on the budget. NOW we are having to be careful because of having spent a lot of our savings to get out here to NC and Merrick being out of work for a while. I have to say, 2 1/2 years, a friggin low number of jumps for all that time has me very frustrated at this point. I just keep telling myself that now we're in a prime jumping area and we will be better financially soon! For now, I'm very bummed about it.

Merrick posted something in the bug forum about it, since it would appear we were logged out, but when the other would try to log on, it would show the first person as being logged in still. Did that make any sense?! LOL. Anyway, Skycat suggested deleting the cookies and such that are connected to DZ.com, that it seems to help in getting completely out. Not sure.

ROFL!! I really set that one up..lol. Whoops! I thought we had an ongoing 'agreement' for whenever you were back in the states anyway?? Sheesh, we've been together a while, I'm sure by that time he'll be plenty tired of me and won't even care haha

I second that :) Although, I nearly AM that too hehe It's taking getting used to when it used to be 5 mins to work, but now it's about 30 to work and anywhere from 45 to an hour and a half home depending on how many wrecks there are. It's not bad though.

You and me both, although I highly doubt I'll actually get any :) Speaking of...we're fairly close to the one in TN..anyone know if they do any actual training there or is it more just a 'tourist attraction'??

ROFL!! I'll have to remember that...I've heard that sssooo many times! A co-worker was asking me about it today (You jump?? Gee, no, all those stickers on my car are my hubby's...I just like to support him!). Sge said she'd like to do it if they'd just let her out about tree height. Um, no, you don't really want that.
