Yes, it's certainly changed over the last few years from what it was. It seems to start over with new sets of people about once a year. Then the old topic threads come up again along with the same 'who's going to hook up with whom' frenzy. I still enjoy lurking though and find a few interesting bits of information now and again. Even the old crap is better then working most times anyway. And of course, without the site, I would have not met some really terrific people. It was a great resource when moving halfway across the country for certain!! Pammi

Well, not low time but not too experienced either. Still in the learning phases :) I have 93 jumps right now.

Geez, I bet I'll hear that as often as you'll continue to hear the "what the hell were you thinking attaching your own PC?!" Pretty much forever. Ah you could prob'ly hit it about every time if you try, now me landing on my feet...that you might have to wait a while to see again Pamela

Well, of course! We're never allowed to go too far without him Seriously, you might make it? Cool! Pammi -
What a great idea! That'd be a cool thing to do for those dz.com'ers who had to go over! Maybe we could put something on the site were they could make a 'wish list'? Good to hear you are there safely Katie! Take care, we'll be thinking about you! Pam

Count on it, we'll be there! We might be kids-in-tow which limits our participation in night-time nig-noggery, but we'll certainly come down, make some jumps and have some beers (well, I'll drink the beer ) We're about 2 hours from Raeford, which pretty much sucks, but you are welcome to stay at our house anytime if you need a place! Oh, and of course you wouldn't. (where's the icon for rolling eyes?) Pam -
ROFLMAO! Poor kitty! He's so adorable! You can send him to my house for a 'relocation program'! Pammi

ROFL! You remembered! Not coming to give me another kiss like at the SCR ceremony? About friggin time too! I'm only a couple jumps behind Merrick, but I'm hoping to get those this weekend, then we'll both only need 4 more til our 100th. Looks like it's gonna be too cold for the nekkid jump...shucks Pammi -
Thank you all so much for you tips, advice and even the things that you all were able to see on the video that I'd missed. I have put ALL of it into a Word document so that I can print it out and read through it all at the gym while I'm doing my cardio, the quietest time I get without distractions from work and kids. I know this will be helpful! I agree with you, as well, Kelli that I need to work on these one or two at a time so I'll know what it is that needed changed when I find it (and don't hurt myself trying to think of them all at once). I am also going to do a couple hop n' pops this weekend I think so I can get more landings for less money and concentrate on those for a few jumps. I can't thank you guys enough! Pam BTW, if I really am flaring at the trees (which I tend to do sometimes if I'm looking at the ground instead of in front of me), I'm seriously flaring high cuz they are damn tall around here!

I agree with Diva as well. Hook is incredible and has a lot to give to anyone who takes his course. And I for one will be in line for Chuck's out here on the east coast. If anyone looks at the thread of mine in safety and training, you'll know why! Pammi

I wondered if that was going to happen with poor Katie having to go overseas You guys know where we're at...we'll be there whenever it is! My next repack comes due the first part of April and I have to get my Cypress sent in for the 4-year check. BLAH! That means jumping without one probably for a bit...what's the turnover time?? Pammi -
Ditto if I ever get a chance to get a new rig. But then, anyone who knows me knows of past frustrations I had with my rig and Mr. Hallet. On one hand I'd say send it back because you paid for it and should get exactly what you want, but on the other, be prepared to wait a while to get it back. Pam

Wow, you guys are great! I have a lot to read through while I look at the video more. Merrick kinda said some of what you guys said, about how it looked like I still had some speed left I hadn't bled out before I reached for the ground with my feet. The one thing I'm a little confused about is that you're saying I'm supposed to bend my knees so my feet are up behind me a little, correct? Then I assume I'm to pull them back up under me when it *is* time to put them down? How do I know when it's slowed down sufficiently so I don't land ON my knees? Keeping in mind I am a slow runner (I had a guy joke when playing softball that he could pick me up and carry me faster then I could run ) ROFL!! Tyler, my seven year old son was the 'Flare, flare, flare...." then he and my 11 year old daughter did the nice "ooaaoooaaooohhh" ROFL! Pretty hilarious! Even Tyler knows when to flare now better then I do! hehe

I've talked about my landings on here many times, and so I took Skycat's advice and had my daughter, Samantha, video as I landed (which explains why it's a little shaky). I'd appreciate some opinions from you guys about what I might be doing. I'm finishing my flair fine now (I hadn't been previously) but I"m not sure how to correct whatever it is I'm doing now. Laugh away as well, I do! (BTW, I actually have a video of me landing on my feet on the jump before this one, so I'm not completely hopeless....just can't get used to this lack of a good wind here in NC! ) My landing Pam

That's hilarious Michelle! I, too, will be anxiously awaiting to hear if he actually shows. I'm betting he doesn't as well! Pammi

Whatever you guys. Have a kid or two! That'll do it for sure!! Cut the partying and jumping down 'til you're begging for either! Pammi
-
What a cutie! Be careful with saying that...we might just meet one day and I'll stick ya with mine for a while! Pammi

We're having the big trampoline debate...I think it would be fun for the kids and he's scared that if the neighbors kids get hurt they will sue us.. do you let other kids jump and if you do...do you make their parents sign a waiver??? We got the kids one for Christmas. It's weird, my parents let me have horses and a motorcycle, but no tramp? Anyway, I was told by people I work with that a waiver might be a good idea and NOT to tell the insurance company or they might drop you! I don't know how true that is. Might depend on the company. I just didn't tell, and the neighbor kid my son's friends with got one for Xmas too, so that hasn't been a problem yet either! Merrick will be the one to get hurt if anyone does. He forgets he's not a kid anymore Pammi

Then there's the girl powerlifter at our gym. She's just scary! Her face looks like a man! Pammi

A small boy was lost at a large shopping mall. He approached a uniformed policeman and said, "I've lost my dad!" The cop asked, "What's he like?" The little boy replied, "Beer and p****!" Pammi
