  1. At my home DZ a jumper realy liked his pilot and dowsized twice. After the last downsizing he swaped it for a sabre 2 (135 I think) because in that size he did not liked the pilot anymore. So testjump before you buy one.
  2. Please do not forget that you have to reconnect each jump the slider correctly to its 4 rings. If you flip one ring, you can practice your EP's.
  3. There's an easy way to mod the ball and band set-up so it's not 'connected' (by much). Or use magnets instead of the ball and rubberband setup. You can even sew it on the collar of your suit.
  4. I was given a javelin j3 with a raven 245 in it. The 245 fits....barely, grommets don't line up. I've jumped it, but I would like to get something a little smaller, that would fit a little better, and maybe be a little sportier. I'm relatively new to the game, just got my B license. Have been jumping a 210 zp. The biggest zp that will fit is a170, and I'm not ready to go that small. Cost is the ultimate issue, so I was hoping to get around a 200 f111. Hope that helps explain things a little more. I appreciate the feedback Also know that a big old (worn out) F111 canopy fulfills the size requirement but probably does not land well anymore. I have seen it more than once, light jumpers under bigger old worn out canopies still crash-landing because of the lack flare power. A question, do the grommets of a javelin have to line up ? Gr Jurgen
  5. You wouldn't be worried about the main risers catching wind etc and deploying unintentionally? Not on a rig with (good) risercovers.
  6. And the same way you route the drougue on a vector 2 tandem and Next tandem.
  7. My wife has a vector III. The silhouette 170 was tight. Her sabre II 150 now fits perfect.
  8. Ok, my mistake. Did not read the quote he made in his post.
  9. its fix If you consider loosing the GPS fix as a safetyproblem during wingsuiting, please explain why it is a problem?
  10. 11. Not neccesarily. But weather here (Belgium) can be different than in the US.
  12. The contrary can happen to. During climbing, the cloud base is at 4500 ft, but 10 min later, the cloud base got lower. Gr Jurgen
  13. shooting = firing on the earth = on the ground ... concerning the activation of a cypres 2 on the ground.
  14. If you have unprotected softlinks, the slider sit on the softlinks and will damage them. That is why you will find those small black protector"things" in the package with the softlinks. If you have metal links, normaly they are covered with a plastic protection. They will protect you lines from the slider.
  15. I was teached in this situation as a TI to disconnect the RSL, pull the cutawayhandle and to release the drogue. After clearing the mess, pull reserve.
  16. I noticed that with the old line set on my Velo 90, the toggle pressure felt quite lower than with the new line set. My old brake lines were + 15 cm longer than the factory setting. After the reline, I had them on the factory setting and the pressure felt much heavier. I really felt the difference when flying in deep brakes. I do not say that toggle pressure was lower, but it really felt like that. Probably the higher or lower arm position plays a role in this.
  17. You will be happy, but before you jump it, look at the video at the website www.pgasus.be. Just to be sure to pack it correctly. http://www.pgasus.be/start.php?pg=text&item=mPOD
  18. No, you're wrong. It works in no wind and cross wind. The forward throw effect is independent of any winds. Sorry, had a brainfart. Wanted to say that this rule was not correct when jumprun was with the wind in the back. Did not notice that you already said that. I missed that part. Empuriabrava regulary has a downwind jumprun. They prefer not to put out jumpers above the sea or the town (with no outs in the town except canals).
  19. Why doesn't everyone wingsuit or plays soccer or goes to the zoo or ...
  20. Thanks for the response Andy, I'll cross my fingers. I do not think that it will be enough. What they want to see on the certificate = Medical fit to skydive. If your doctor doesn’t want to sign that paper, go to another one. Ask Reagan if he knows one in Empuria. This certificate is more than probable required by the insurance, every federation has its own insurance with its specific rules.
  21. Aerodyne? Didn't they take over the non-military division of Pisa? Or try: http://www.pisa.co.za/ BTW I tought you were Holger, a German Jumper at my DZ. That's the reason why I mentionned the Belgian rules.
  22. Hey Holger, In Belgium (with Belgian insurance) your reserve is not airworthy anymore after 20 years. In the Netherlands it was 25 years, but I do not know if they have changed this. I do not know the German rules if you have a german insurance.
