At what point/colour does it become black face? Seems that Trump isn’t only trying to copy Harris campaign strategies, trying to look like her as well.
-
Liz Cheney has endorsed Harris. I wonder if Harris has set a record for prominent figures in the opposing party endorsing them?
-
Trump must be in a good mood, his stock is doing great!
-
The inability to provide any logical argument supported by facts gives the Impression that you’re either a Trump cult member or simply misogynistic/racist (of course the two are not mutually exclusive).
-
How anyone can support him is unbelievable. From his own tiny fingers …

63c to go DJT stock is at $18.08 and was floated at $17.45. I’d like to see it at its real value though

I believe Florida follows the rules of the state where the conviction occurred as you say. My source is my aunt who hates Trump enough she stayed in the hotel next to Trump tower recently in the hope that she could flip him the bird - ironically on the day he got shot.
-
Well Trump the successful businessman will fix it all! Just look at how successful he is, this is the DJT media profitably Net profit margin -1,955.79% I’m not sure I’ve seen profit margins like that before.

Actually his post explains a lot I think and probably why Trumpononics appeals. To summarise and paraphrase it. The US currency must be the global currency of choice and any threat to that is scary. Everything should be made in America, because having things like TV’s made in China is bad for Americans. The strangeness comes across because it’s a fantasy. A utopia with the benefits of globalisation and isolationism and none of the downsides for either.

I suspect you’ve misunderstood me. It appears that in the US rich and powerful people are given special dispensation and the poor get treated badly. How is it justice when the Trumps and Bannons of this world can happily stay free during appeals etc and yet if you’re the wrong demographic you get locked up pending trial? My belief is that justice should be blind - obviously that’s idealistic and can never be - hundred percent true. I suspect that if it was you or I with 34 felonies and multiple other pending criminal trials we would be incarcerated already.
-
The only area where I agree with Trump is that the US justice system is dysfunctional and corrupt. Where I differ from him is that he is being given the royal treatment rather than being victimised. This has dragged on for far too long and the American public have been denied justice. Trump has a known history of delay tactics, this should have been countered from day 1 by denying him bail and placing him under some form of confinement.

ABBA have joined other musicians in telling Trump he is not allowed to use their songs. I find it funny how the music industry is constantly hitting him and videos are being forced to be taken down.
-
Trump being a racist, sexist dysfunctional human is one thing, the shocking indictment of US society is that such a large percentage of the population supports him - even 10% is 30 Million people (or using Maga maths 3 Billion!)
-
Say what you like about Trump, but he’s a one man stimulus package for the legal profession! September is a busy month for him, I wonder how many more court appearances he can fit in? https://www.msnbc.com/the-reidout/reidout-blog/trump-isaac-hayes-song-hold-on-im-coming-rcna168275

Seriously? If you divide 3.4 billion by 100 million, you can think of it as a simple way to figure out how many times 100 million fits into 3.4 billion. First, let’s break down the numbers: - 3.4 billion is 3,400,000,000. - 100 million is 100,000,000. Now, imagine you have 3.4 billion in your hand, and you're taking away 100 million each time to see how many times you can do that. So, 3,400,000,000 ÷ 100,000,000 = 34. This means 100 million fits into 3.4 billion exactly 34 times. Edited to add: reminds me of the memes about Americans

Donald’s tone has really changed in the past month or two. I’m not poking fun at him, his voice has taken on an almost childlike whining tone. Higher pitch and fast paced barely pausing to take breath. It was very noticeable when he called into Fox recently.

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/story/kamala-harris-media-politics-2024 This is an interesting article on how Kamala was underestimated and how well she’s doing
-
This is great. If I knew how to video edit I’d love to put Trump dancing to Bad Touch by the bloodhound gang
-
There’s something fundamentally wrong with Donald. This isn’t being a sociopath, it’s the complete inability to understand human emotion and decorum. What a sad little man. Also for all the talk of how politicians dress, he needs someone to tell him his pants needs to be shortened!

As my late step father used to quote to us as kids from Proverbs “Like a madman shooting deadly arrows, is the fool who throws out firebrands and says I was only joking.” Using the “I was only joking” excuse for racism is pretty lame and a poor attempt to cover up your views.
-
I know it gets lonely in there, but that kind of racist crap doesn’t belong in this thread and should be in critics corner. Kamala filled TWO stadiums in one night, seems she’s pretty competent. Let’s try and keep a thread full of good vibes the way it was intended. You’re more than welcome to start a praise for white nationalists and trump thread.

My pushback is against management cutting resources and staff to please shareholders. When you’re deliberately under staffing to prop up profits it’s morally wrong.
-
I should have been clear, this is for medium and large companies. Small businesses are exempt. Also it’s to break the expectation to answer emails and calls that could just as easily wait.
-
In Australia today we got a new law following parts of Europe and that’s the right to disconnect and prevent companies contacting employees out of hours - except in exceptional circumstances. There’s a bit of concern about it, but it’s a really good initiative. Peter Drucker back in the 80’s used to say that he could only be interrupted by his wife or the president. His philosophy was that in a functional organisation, nobody should be that critical that things ‘couldn’t wait’. It’s going to be interesting to see how it plays out. My manager is really good and knows my stance, his manager is completely dysfunctional. She’s in a different Timezone and schedules meetings for 1am that she expects him to attend (so that she isn’t inconvenienced). He’s on leave for the first time in years and she keeps copying him in on everything and expecting him in meetings- despite having handed over to me.

I’m curious to know people’s thoughts on how far migrants should go to assimilate into the culture of their new country. I enjoy cultural diversity, the new foods and perspectives that migrants bring. We have quite a few migrants here and there are frequent celebrations for major events (for example Chinese New Year), and these tend to be quite inclusive with everyone joining in. For the most part migrants speak english in professional settings and at work. With one stark exception, South Africans. My sons went to a high school that had a majority of South Africans, my boys were born in the UK and don’t speak Afrikaans. Despite this, they had teachers that would revert to Afrikaans during lessons. I guess I’m a little grumpy about it right now, as I just had a shop keeper try and engage me in Afrikaans (which I don’t speak). I think if you’re working it’s rude to not use the official language(s) and in many ways disrespectful.
