Ever notice how similar Kingdom and Kinkydom is? George Bush met The Queen, and he turns round and says: "As I'm the President, I'm thinking of changing how the country is referred to, and I'm thinking that it should be a Kingdom" The Queen replies "I'm sorry Mr Bush, but to be a Kingdom, you have to have a King in charge - and you're not a King." George Bush thought a while and then said: "How about a Principality then?", To which the Queen replied "Again, to be a Principality you have to be a Prince - and you're not a Prince, Mr Bush". Bush thought long and hard and came up with "How about an Empire then?" The Queen, getting a little annoyed by now, replies "Sorry again, Mr Bush, but to be an Empire you must have an Emperor in charge - and you are not an Emperor." Before George Bush could utter another word, The Queen said: "I think you're doing quite nicely as a Country". Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Forget roundabouts. My pet peave (having been on the road all afternoon) is twats who do a 100MPh on the motorway and insist on doggedly returning to the left hand lane after every overtake. WTF? You are breaking the law and busy trying to "teach" everyone to stick to the left hand lane. Ok I know I am the irritating twat that sticks in the middle lane at 75MPh. Tough I can't be arsed to keep overtaking every HGV every 1/2 mile and checking my mirrors all the time. If there are no HGV's in the visible distance I will go into the left. You are welcome to do a 100 - just stick to the outside lane and get on with it. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Just checking to see if anyone was actually reading my poem. Cool poem John Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. -
To far away. I will be enjoying pancakes made by 10 year old boys. And to Andy - you realise that Lent is the "christian" variant on Ramadan. Definately not bonfire material. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Shit like this comes frm people like Assange. Good. Can you elaborate? Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

You want me to get burn't at the stake? I like french pancakes - the old crepe... thin and crispy, white flag and attitude optional. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

I thought this was a very interesting part of the article, I can't think of a legal use for a GPS jammer. To make people spot and not rely on GPS? Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Fair enough. I don't really like any of the parties but I think the conservatives offer the best of a bad bunch. I think we are in for a world of pain as far as the economy goes. I think for the next 5 to 10 years it will be difficult IF we are prudent and don't simply sweep the issue under the carpet. Labour screwed up with making everyone think that they "deserve" a degree at little or no cost. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

No it is since we outsourced the training of our troops It's what you get when you buy SAS training DVD's at Tesco. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Why? If anything I think they have gained credibility and while the "wierdy beardy" lib dem voters will probably go and vote for the communist party or something, I would imagine a fair number of labour and sensible people will support them. The coalition has held together for nearly a year now. It is interesting that it is no longer "news worthy". My view is that it has been a success and has moderated the changes. I am very happy to see it continue and am generally impressed with how things have proceeded. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

To be fair it is an oxymoron. Government plans to remove government involvement. Personal responsibility is sorely lacking and we have developed a culture of not my problem someone else will pick up the mess. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Exactly. What a lot of the media seem to miss is that a great number of tourists come to the UK specifically because of the Queen and royalty. It is not like we are a beach resort. I personally think that it is a huge pity that parliament has modernised their dress code over the past 10 years. I think that politicians in fancy dress was quite entertaining. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-12668230 Interesting article. I like GPS and think it is a fantastic tool but we are getting to the point where infrastructure is dependant on something that we have no stake holding in. All the royalty are wankers but I think they are a nice part of British history and they bring tourist dollars so no objection to him sticking around. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

It is a waste of time and money. The tubes are noisy and crowded so will have someone yelling in your ear over the top of announcements every 2 minutes. It is also a security risk with the only suicide bombers in the UK having used mobiles as part of their plans it seems stupid. I think that in principle it is a good thing. I am sick of hearing people expecting hand-outs, bitching about bus services etc. Once upon a time we used to help our neighbours out of being human it doesn't hurt to get that back. The only "example" of big society that I have seen touted is car sharing and this seems to have a number of schemes. Is Ken Clarke playing fast and lose with prisoner plans?
nigel99 replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Not sure if prison works in the first place and it costs us money. I figure we should just ship the convicts off to the colonies and let them deal with it. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. -
It was; post #68: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4064533;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread How dare you do less than perfect pre-post research. You just keep the orange boiler suit on for now. It doesn't count if it isn't in the thread title If everyone posted in the same thread we would have 2 threads in SC. The gun thread and god thread. Granted the article that I have linked to is the Daily Mirror but a couple of quotes worth pulling out of the article... ouch that has got to hurt a few egos. I have a lot of respect for the SAS and I am sure they thought they were on friendly ground but it still sounds like a real cock-up. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12672276 Just kidding about blaming it on Gordon. Things are definitely tough out there at the moment. "HA HA, you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!!"

Interesting article. Seems pretty accurate and free of politics. It is also free of facts and logic. It is, however, full of absurd oversimplifications. One wonders whether the author has ever worn a uniform (not necessarily that of the US) as well. mh . I'd like to know a few examples of where it is missing facts and logic? They give a number of examples that are both factual and logical - taken at random here is a quote as an example.
