  1. > Call it an ARMY. Please. Sorry, can't do that. I could call it "the military" or something, but the FMDF consists of the army, the navy and the air force... And, like, that(FMDF) is the official name of the institution... Don't hold it against me...
  2. Not that I'm a big fan of Bush myself but... >1)"...more and more of our imports are coming from overseas." >-- On NPR's Morning Edition (9/26) As opposed to from Canada, Mexico and Central/South-America perhaps? Erno
  3. Beats me, didn't get to see that... It could've been level 3 where I ended up.
  4. I did, but it had been spoiled too. Not quite as spectacularily though...
  5. Oh dear now I pissed of the HH How inconsiderate of me. I have added a spoiler warning in my post.
  6. warning: contains a spoiler about the movie "seven" Ok, I have no idea why this popped in my mind just now. I have not been abused by any mean people lately, but I remembered a story and I just have to share it. You know, there are mean people out there. Not the ones that are outright evil, but just mean. 1996: I was doing my mandatory military service in the Finnish Military Defence Forces, and my platoon was assembled for the evening roll call. Then one of our instructors addressed us: "Men, how many of you have seen the movie 'Seven'?" *some hands are raised* "Well, how many of you are planning to go see it?" *more hands are raised, mine too* "At the end of the movie, the head of the detective's wife is found in a cardboard box. Good night. Dismissed!" The sheer meanness of the deed engraved the moment to my mind forever.
  7. I suppose playing often enough will help. That way the cookie on your computer will be renewed before it expires.
  8. Well I got that far even with the touchpad... I think I left off at level 4 last week, but my #¤"& cookie has expired and now I have to start over.
  9. It's difficult to play with the touchpad of my laptop. I'm going to have to play it at work. Damn.

  11. >If you look inside a recently built Sidewinder, you will see an extra >little triangle that extends the reserve side wall halfway into the main >container, forcing you to lay your risers and lines straight. I posted a picture of just such a thing to Gear and Rigging. Erno
  12. >So, basically, you're saying that new (or low jump, as in a reserve) > F111 will perform as well as ZP? Riggerrob wrote this post concerning porosity in this thread If the better 0-3cfm fabric is almost as good as ZP (@ 0.5cfm), why wouldn't the performance be the same? BTW, does anyone know what the tolerance is for ZP fabric? It probably wont be _really_ ZP... but what do I know? Erno
  13. >Yes...Use the ip address as the url - Although it isn't working for me >for some reason. That would work on a very simple setup: one server, one website. But since Skykat has bought server space from some ISP, the same IP-address can host several websites(with several different domain names). The details on how this is done I'm not familiar with. For example: Both www.hameenlaskuvarjourheilijat.fi (my home DZ) and www.fashionteam.fi (some fashion stuff) Come back as 212.83.122.5 Trying to go there it tells you it's a "temporary server page." A reverse lookup reveals the real name for that IP: zapp.euonnet.com So how do I get to my home DZ's pages or the whatever fashion pages when I know the IP of the server and the name that should take me to the pages(but doesn't if the DNS is screwed)? Anyone interested in giving a brief lecture in the mysteries of IP networking? Erno

  15. I know I didn't like it. Even if I wanted to look at it again(due to temporary insanity or something), I probably couldn't; my eyes haven't recovered yet...
  16. Good morning. It's 15:00 here, I'll be leaving work in less than an hour. A large mug of strong coffee works for me. Haven't had any problems with watery coffee; You know, there are ways to measure the amounts of coffee and water you put in the coffee machine... Erno
  17. Hey! You're an enthusiast! Now you can stop posting!
  18. You know, it's the middle of the _day_ here... I'm at work trying to pose as someone who actually is doing something productive.

    >hell, for a mil, i'd give you my left nut! seriously....and i'd also part with a >finger (not my thumb though i need that to hold my beer) a toe, maybe an >eye....... i'd have sex with bill gates Ah-ha! But would Bill Gates have sex with a guy who's missing a nut, a finger, a toe and an eye? I'm too emotionally attached to my bodyparts to be parting with them for any sum of money... But what I'd do? Like that "blowing a rhino"-thing... I dunno, you're gonna have to come to me with the money and a rhino to find out... Erno
  20. >>don't overload a F-111 canopy more than 1.0 to 1 wing loading. >> >This depends on age. > Indeed. And more often than not it's pretty near impossible to tell how many jumps a 0-3cfm canopy has... until you jump it and it doesn't flare And 2:1 on 0-3cfm... Not me, I can tell you that! Erno
  21. You just have to go everytime the boy cries "wolf!"... Not much you can do huh? Erno
  22. >Sew a new label on my 135 that said it was a 235. And while at it, I'd develop a new way of calculating the wing area of a canopy, so that a 135 canopy would actually measure as a 235! That way it wouldn't even be cheating! Erno
  23. >Would someone please correct me if I'm wrong BUT my understanding is that >there is not in existence a drug that will stop the effects of HIV and AIDS nor is >there a vaccine for HIV Not yet. There is a vaccine, which is going into testing on humans right now, being developed at a company in Finland. It won't be on the market until 2006 at the earliest(If I recall correctly, I couldn't find the press release right now.). Erno
