  1. Yup, what they all said; the first one's the best looking. And (since I'm a flatflyer), the first one doesn't exclude any disciplines. Except skysurfing maybe. And birdmen... But you get the point; we all use parachutes.
  2. Friday night, in Helsinki, a student less than 20 yrs of age blew himself up in a shopping mall filled with people. Seven dead, 80 injured, many seriously. We have never had anything like this in Finland. Most likely this has nothing to do with terrorism, it's more likely to be the deed of a mentally disturbed individual. The guy blew up a home-made shrapnel bomb in the middle of a crowd that had just finished watching some sort of a childrens show. If someone wants to kill himself, fine with me. But why take others with you? I don't get it. I thought this was bad. And then, Saturday night, (most likely) terrorists blow up two bombs in Bali, Indonesia. 182 dead, ~130 injured.. Mostly tourists, of many different nationalities. I'm at loss for words.
  3. Oh god you people are killing me... literally...
  4. >>"Aliens have better things to do than play in grain fields.... like >>probing inbred rednecks. " >> >I think this is true. They fly thousands of miles across space. (...) >Makes sense to me. This was well explained in one of Douglas Adams' books, don't have a copy handy but the as I recall Ford explained it something like this: (unsurprisingly, a copy of the book(Hitchhikers' guide to the galaxy) can be found on the Net, so this is an exact quote:)
  5. I'm not! Now I'm thinking "where's the site that debunks all the points on that site in a very believeable manner"! Goddamnit... See what this shit does to me?
  6. ...but the moon landings isn't one of them. That was pretty thorough.
  7. >on bomb run we discovered we had overstuffed the bomb bay and >jammed the door. nothing to do but watch the plane blow in flaming >pieces in mid air. Back to the ol' drawing board... >transparent flames? fire that you can't see is kinda funny when it lands >on your cousin's head! Did the hair grow back? Erno
  8. Yeah I guess sometimes there are good reasons to be paranoid...
  9. >I remember the QT was a plug in for Adobe prem 6.0. AFAIK(and remember I'm no video expert), the plugin just allows Premiere to use the already installed bits of QT on your system. Do you have QT installed? Can you _play_ the .movs?
  10. >Kinda makes you wonder No, it doesn't. La-la-la-laa-I'm-not-thinking-about-it-because-I-can't-do-anything-about-it-anyway-La-laa-la-laa -- Oh, look, a paperclip! -- Ooh!
  11. >air conditioning is cool.. Oh that was lame....
  12. >post about ventilation ducts in movies turns into a hot topic of Moon >Conspiracy Theories. Talk about thread-hijacking! Ventilation ducts are obviously a thought-provoking subject...
  13. Sure he does. It's just packed in a container that doesn't seem to open...
  14. The conspiracy stuff gives me a headache. It's just as bad as trying to figure out the meaning of life, the size of space, and particle/wave duality. I just let it all pass and pretend none of that exists. Makes my life much easier Erno
  15. Hmmm. That reminds me of a very bad joke which includes Minnie Mouse and a narcotics sniffer dog. Unfortunately it only works in Finnish, and is impossible to translate. So there, you multiple-african-language speaking people!
  16. Ei perkele eihän näistä ymmärrä enää yhtään mitään... Eikö voitaisi pysyä ihan perus-englannissa? Bloody hell I can't understand a word anymore... Couldn't we stick to basic-english?
  17. 11. You built an outhouse over the Sarlaac. 13. A Wookie has told you that you need to shave. 16. You've gone AT-AT tipping. Ha!
  18. > rate I'm going, I'll be doing my 100th on the rope! How's the fieldtrip plan going?
  19. >Man, I admire your patience, anything longer than 20 minutes and >I generally go away and sulk..... So did I. I just left it downloading and went to do something else... And after an hour I just had to know how long it's going to take. Nice vid, I'm really looking forward to the realtime version.
  20. >Next time, just ask - save you some time ... Nahh.. much more fun this way!
  21. >you've lost me .... ooooo you want to know what a panga is? No worries, I can Google... Last time it was that caterpillar thingie I had to look up.
  22. >As a minimum you would need to make registry changes to install the >codecs, and from memory, you need to be an administrator. I can make changes to the registry. I know I could install qt on some NT machine I have admin-rights on, check the registry-settings, copy them and the necessary files by hand, but... it's just too much trouble. I can view movs at home. It did take 122 minutes to DL Tom's lineover-video though... Erno
  23. The TM who forgot his passenger is my favourite.
  24. >>"ways to enable us to keep on acting silly " >> >Guilty, sorry.... > Wha?? HH puts up a forum for skydivers and is then surprised when they act silly?? And fingers, you're doing that on purpose, aren't you? I'll just use my trusty puukko for the mob riot, thanks.
  25. So is there some way I can install QT without installing QT? I'm using NT4 at work and I don't have admin-priviledges, so the installation package from Apple wont install.
