Five chamber parabolic bracing
mchamp replied to LetsGoOutside's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I really wish that PD and other canopy manufacturers would do this too. Obviously they don't want to give away too much (although, having said that, I don't really know what could be gained at the stage they're flying prototypes) but it really was amazing to watch. Especially when they were having crazy behavior. I'm personally used to flying pretty docile canopies so seeing some of the craziness the test pilots had to put up with was eye-opening. Thanks guys! Not quite the same, but they do have the office! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDVS6KmOcQo&feature=feedu For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp -
Purchased a new canopy and was too eager to hook it up.....ended up mis-assembling the soft links. I passed the soft link through the suspension lines of the main canopy only one time; correctly assembled the soft link passes through both the suspension lines and riser TWICE before the ends are secured together. Unfortunately I had jumped the canopy 2 times in this configuration before a rigger noticed it :( Glad I'm alive to tell the tale...When in doubt ask a rigger! Glad to see so many people participated within this poll ! Perhaps this reflects a general idea where the majority of people load their reserves I see some load their reserves above 1.6.....i can't load any reserve more than 1.4 without even if I wanted to.....probably won't ever lol For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

Sure it can, just really depends how you take care of it and maintain your parachute. It's time to retire a main whenever it fails a pull test? I've heard of+ 2200 jumps, vengeance 120 (WL 1,65), 0 chops. now that's sth! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

What kind of procedure would everyone recommend in terms of selling an item to another person in a detailed manner?? For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

You're right, less fabric SHOULD be less expensive especially given the vast size difference. Sabre2 97 vs Sabre2 260 is 163sq ft difference which is an entirely new canopy worth of material! But then again I suppose that would be too much of another incentive to downsize rapidly? In a riggers opinion would it be deemed somewhat "safer" to pack a loose fitting reserve(by loose I mean NOT out of the manufacturers recommendation) compared to that of a "tight" packed reserve? Obviously the standard fitting reserve would work optimally but just comparing loose vs tight For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

Here's an idea perhaps..... So you look up and its a complete shit canopy and you cutaway. Any way of connecting your mal main to a 3 ring cutaway weight belt without adding any additional forces? aka your weight belt is connected somehow to your main perhaps via some lanyard without impeding/hindering the canopy cutaway. Of course this would be an OPTION to hook up your weight belt to the canopy/cutaway system and would still function normally with or without a weight belt Obviously there are a lot of conflicts and concerns and perhaps would add additional risks regarding hooking it up properly 1 benefit would be that once your main is is chopped you would know exactly where it would be since it wouldn't float away..as much? 2nd benefit would be a lower reserve wingloading 3rd benefit would be in the future perhaps could put a GPS device within the weight belt to track the canopy's location Thoughts? I loaded my first canopy/my Pulse at 0.9:1 and absolutely loved it, it's ease of flight, powerful flare and packing volume due to the bottom skin fabric. Overall one amazing canopy that I definitely enjoyed! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

I'd check with your instructor first prior to wearing it on one of your jumps. Don't mean to burst your bubble, but some instructors might not allow you to wear a digital alti let alone an audio one as well No worries for buying it now and using it later when your are ready and all though For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
