that sort of misapplication of sentencing guidelines seems like a slam dunk on the appeals end. The outcomes are too irrational, inconsistent. But already in Colorado it seems that the real threat of legalization has been not with the toking, but in the baked goods. It used to be said 'it is impossible to OD on pot,' much as is is very difficult to kill yourself drinking light beer - you can't consume it fast enough. But we're only a few months into 2014 and there have been multiple incidents around the baked stuff where you can easily overconsume, just as the drunk can shoot vodka much faster than any feedback from the body. (for those more knowledgeable on the subject, feel free to correct) The initial talk is about standardizing portion sizes, but I wonder if the end result will be maximum sizes of no more than 2 (?) portions. Or an outright ban on the sale of prepared goods (think of the children!). For the other states that might consider following the lead of CO and WA, I expect the opposition to make hay with these problems, something they didn't really have from the medical pot era. I've stayed away from the edibles, they scare the shit out of me....when I had friends in from out town, of course they wanted to go to the pot shop and load up...guy behind the counter told one of my friends about one of their candies... "Yea I mean if you smoke a lot you can eat 2 or so, I guess" He had 2 and got sick...I threw the rest away and gave him his money back. The problem is they list THC amounts on the bottles of candy, but they are all approximate since recipes vary. This part of the system needs overhauled soon.

Hey, we're trying. Unfortunately a large section of our economy is based on the 'War on Drugs' so it's a bit tough. Since Colorado legalized pot will the Gov sign a blanket pardon letting all the petty pot criminals in Colorado out of jail with clean records so they can get on with their lives? There is talk of it...I haven't done the hard research, but I can't imagine most people in jail for pot possession were busted for a small amounts or some brownies...my guess is people serving hard time likely had wayyyy too much before it was recreational/abusing medical cards, illegal grow operations, or multiple offenses... So, with a couple people in jail for smoking in public or things like that, I doubt it is high on Hickenlooper's to-do list... Again, I don't know for sure, just a quick reply.

Still strange to me that this is happening elsewhere while I can walk 2 blocks from my apartment and go to a store and buy the mary juanas as easily as milk n eggs.

Nope. Not going to happen for several reasons but mostly because the wages/benefits in one country do not equate to the wages/benefits in all others. Hell, we don't even have a universal minimum wage in the US. It varies wildly from state to state and that is even including a Federal mandate. I agree...this thread was more of a rant than a "Democrats are ruining the economy"/"Republicans don't care about the poor"...It is absurd to me someone wants $15 an hour to work at a McDonalds to assemble a "burger" that looks, well, I haven't been in a while but I'm sure they still look horrible.
-
To some employers, "burger flipping" is in fact worth more than the current minimum wage. To other employers, they feel than the current minimum wage isn't low enough. I'll tell you this though, no burgers are sold without being flipped by somebody. None. AND if you flip and sell enough burgers, then $15 per hour is a trivial increase to the bottom line. It has ZERO to do with the general concept of flipping burgers. So, tell me where this $15 minimum wage is. I'm looking at the minimum wages across the country and I'm not seeing it anywhere. No where. But there seems to be enough workers world wide to strike until they get their $15 an hour.
-
So burger flipping and potato frying is worth at least $15 right out of the gate? Did I complain about my wage? Don't think I said I should earn more than I am right now, it's fair for the work I do.

What's wrong cupcake? Not getting the entitlements you clearly feel you are entitled to? How old are you? Early to mid 20s? Grow the #### up ... Do you think when I was in my early to mid 20s I was rolling in the dough? No I as an entry level worker and was being paid entry level wages. Only as I gained more experience (all part of growing up) and became more valuable to my employer(s) was I able to earn a higher wage. I'm not entitled to shit...I'm 24, had a job since I was 15, paid my way through college in cash (no student loans), and now in an entry level position getting by and saving for my future. My point is why should the high school dropout with 4 kids and no car living with his parents make at minimum what I make? Where is the incentive for young adults (or shitty adults) to try and achieve better when they can make $15 without having to work for it? Makes people like myself feel pretty useless.

Pffff, I bet Twardo could have used this trick when he was counting dinosaurs... It's 2014...CALCULATORSSSS
-
So why the fuck did I spend all that money all college and take an entry level position at an oil and gas company to make (possibly) less than a McDonalds worker? And yea, I'm going to pull the "it's called 'minimum wage' not 'livable wage'" card, because I truly believe it. My generation is fucked...truly fucked... Oh well, guess I'll just get married and have kids and try and support them off my $15 an hour at McDonalds like everyone else. http://blogs.reuters.com/great-debate/2014/05/15/the-fight-for-a-global-minimum-wage/

Not sure I was tracking (or even talking about tracking) at 10 jumps, so I don't really see that one as a mistake I thought they taught everyone in AFF what tracking was, they made sure I could (half ass) track on my last 12 AFF jumps. Dont forget about that crazy method called IAD. After reading more into your post and gathering clues though, if someone with 10 jumps is doing a solo they most likely went through AFF.

I take my statement back...I've picked up more than one hitchhiker before...but other than that one time, only place I do is when I'm on the Continental Divide and I pick up a random back country skiier/rider and take them back up to the top
-
Hells to the freakin no.... I've only picked up one hitch hiker ever...I was driving home from campus one day and noticed a girl walking in the rain that I recognized from my culdosac. She was grateful, and since I recognized her as a neighbor I hardly consider it a hitch hiker... You never know what kind of fucking weirdo you may pick up

I feel your pain, we got a good amount downtown too...had to bust out my ski goggles for my morning bicycle ride to work
