I've made friends with a worker at the local fish store who lets me have jacked up fish for free...they've all done well so far.. No cuddly pets in my tiny apartment Lots of African cichlids though! Any other fish nerds out there? Too many species to to list their weird names...I'll try and get some pics of the actual fish but they don't sit still for very long... ETA: Here's my auratus, Chester. I got him when he didn't have a tail. First pic is when I first got him and second is him coloring up and tail growing back.

Gun laws, shmun laws...if there's a will there's a way for people with screw loose... How about the number of instances like this one in this geographic region? Sure, there are shootings in places like Chicago all the time, but these (Columbine, Batman movie theatre, this one) are less gang-banging and more mental illness driven. I haven't lived here to fully understand the culture quite yet, but it makes me wonder what the youth in this area are up to...

Still bugs me it's called Skydive Chicago...Ottawa is not Chicago...and when fuckers tell me "Oh I'm from Chicago" "Oh really? What part?" I second Twardo...that rent is outrageous...my apt in downtown denver isn't even that much.... -
Back in my day (a year ago ), on our college campus, firearms had to be stored at the on campus police station. Couldn't have it in housing, car, etc. Cop shop was at the edge of campus. You had 24 access to your weapon as you were leaving campus, and had to immediately return it once reentering campus... Okay, so I don't know what this adds to the discussion, but I liked this policy.
