Ok so now I'm scared. My DZ is small (2 c-182's) but they just got a new big hangar. They are opening this weekend for the 2001 year and I'm going to get set up for my AFF. Is there any suttle way to find out if they consider themselves to be a tandem factory or just straight out ask them or should I just go with the flow and deal with it later??

I/ve heard that fraise used alot in diff posts. Some one please correct me. Is that a DZ that shuns on or gives hassel to taking up single lic divers. HOw do you consider a DZ a tandem factory? (what are the signs) Ignorant (dowh!) jason :)

HEy thank you all for your helpful advice. I think the best advice for me to go by is not to let skydiving take over my family life and to make sure to divide my time equally between my two lifestyles. I,ve already got her to watch BREAKAWAY ( the mal video not the movie) with me and shes ask questiones about my book THE SKYDIVERS HANDBOOK and shes even expressed interst in doing a wind tunnel (closest one 6hrs in vegas)SO who knows hopefully after a while when I,m well into the sport coming home on a weekend with the smell of beer permiating the room she'll want to join in :) I guess she also thought for some reason that skydivers were single so when she reads through these posts she'll see shes not alone and IFLYME if that doesnt work I"LL DUMP HER.. just kidding!!!!! thanx jason

Know dis respect but if they were like taking away your lic level(a,b,c,d) because of this site I could understand but everybody thats been on here a while knows whos who and how long theyve been here so who cares if your a newbe. I keep trying to talk her into it but no luck yet. I think the problem is that I've been talking up a storm about how excited I've been for the last yr about doing this and now that its come to 1 to 2weeks away the reality that its going to happen has set in.

She wants to know now if those other spouces will be there for her when I burn in ( great googgly mooggly she already got me dead and gone and I havent even jumped yet) I guess I can just tell her to meet a good skydiver when I'm gone then she wont have to worry!!! :) jason

My wife needs to know if there is a significant other/spouse group that she can join to help her try and understand why on earth anyone especailly her husband (me) with a child or children would want to do this craaaaaaazzzyyy sport (her words)!!! (my plea) I need some seriuos convincing to put my family at ease. By the way AFF two wks away. Called the DZ today and said theyre open this weekend. maybe will be able to get the T2 out of the way this weekend and go for AFF next weekend weather permitting YEAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Dude I know what yu mean when I watched my tandem video I saw a bunch of wire hanging off my should after we landed and was disconnected and thought what the hell is that mess. That cant be good and then realized it was the ripcord and thought when did that get put there jason

My friend sells those phones for E Phones and is always downloading logos onto my wife phone from our computer. I'll ask him tomorrow where he does it and get back to you if you havent already found out jason

Half of it is going toward a trip up the pacific coast HWY to ORE, WASH,Canada and back w/ my wife and kid and the other half reseeding my back yard (I know, i know):( But who knows I should be off student statice by then and maybe hit a couple of DZ,s on the trip!!!!!! Whyffo permiting :( jason

I had the videagrapher put Machine head by Bush on during the freefall and then World I Know by Collective soul on while he was undercanopy til he and I landed (T1). The guys name was Matt Wimmer and between the timeing and music it was a kick ass video!! I think the coolest part was when Mach head started with "breath in breath out breath in breath out" it was right when I was climling out the door saucer eyed saying OOOHHHH SH@#!##$@T!!!!! Jason

Weve got an AFB not 3 miles to the south of our DZ. Try out monuvoring a f-16. Those suckers fly right over the DZ on there final!!
