Way to go Dove.....But if you look for an open DZ out here you'll have to go to St. George which is about 5 hours away. Ogden skydive (which is closed for the winter), Skydive SLC, and Skydive Utah will all be shut down those two weeks for security reasons. There basically shutting down the whole air space in northern utah. But sounds like you'll be too busy anyways!!! Make us look.....half way decent!! jason

I really didnt feel any difference in the canopy flight...but then again I dont really have a lot of experiance to know the diff,,plus once it opened all I was thinking about was Where in the F%$K is the DZ and where is everyone else!!!! Damn steve...that suxs!!! I was looking for that "goofy " hat you said youd be wearing when I got there on fri. We pretty much packed on the corner closest to the feild and next to the RV's!!! So I was down at Elsinore on the 28-30th last month (where was everyone??) and on saturday on load 3 it starts to sprinkle a little. Not a big deal ....lets get going...... so we get to about 7000 ft when the pilot (carl. which was one of the coolest guys I met down there) says its raining on the ground...do you all still want to jump? Outta 22 of us 18 decide to go. We where first out in a 4way so we thought we're not going to back down. Plus we weere the only ones with open faced helmuts to boot!!!! so we climb out....(this aint bad)....and then launch the 4way.........HOLY SHIT WERE IN A DOWN POUR!!!!!!! THIS F#$%KIN HURTS !!!!!!! I've always heard about jumping in the rain and that it stung but this down right hurt!!!! so we break to do some 360s and I'm thinking screw this... Me and another jumper tracked out and pulled while the other two made a final redock and then tracked and pulled. We opened waaaaaaay off DZ but everyone was able to make it back. I think the reason I made it was because I dumped at 3500 instead of 2700. We went back to the hotel and spread out 4 wet canopies, turned the heat up and went to the bar!!! All in all a fun trip and some good jumping and I met some really cool people ...but where were the DZ.commers?? I have a bunch of jjump ticks left over so I'm sure I'll be back sometime!!!! jason

Well I'm sure that there are some people out there who have saved there ass with a hook knife cutting away an intanglement of two chutes. Plus I've read on this site of CREW guys/gals that wear up to 3 knifes at once. If you didnt need them they wouldnt sell them, so in his defence I could see his piont! I do think it is very uncommon though. Anyone have any experiance cutting away a mal woth a hook knife? jason

For me niether the free fall or the canopy ride is really cold due to all the adrenaline pumping through me. Its when I land and start to wrap up my chute is when the pain sets in!!! jason

Our program is AFP . This includes 2 tandem jumps and five solos with an instructor. 7 jumps total ! jason
