JESUS CHRIST PEOPLE!!!!! Now I'm cocky becuase I have the attitude that i can pull my handles!!!! WTF??? I suppose I'm cocky cause I dont have an AAD....Well if knowning my emergency proceedures, and being confident in my abilites to handle them is being "cocky"....Well them I guess I'm one COCKY MOTHER FUCKER!!!! And there are probalby 1000's of other "coky jumpers out there too!!! If Im not sure I can handle myself then I better get the fuck outa this sport!!! And if I do find myself in a situation that I cant handle ........GUESS WHAT......I GUESS I DIE!!!! It sounds harsh but thats the truth and its the risk I accept!!!!!! jason

Believe me ..I've been on this website for over 2 yrs now...I know the pros and cons...... As for the years of saving lives ..you can use this argument for seatbelts, airbags, motorcycle helmuts ,,etc....... I know seatbelts save lives, I also know they have hurt in the past.....yet I dont where one......airbags.....they have saved lives.....theyve also taken a couple.......I really would rather not have them.....helmuts on a motorcycle........Yes If I rode one I would wear one even though my state doesnt require it!! These are all chioces that I chose to make... The argument over RSL, AAD, Seatblets, airbags, and helmuts are all the same, if you tell me I should use a RSL then you better be wearing a seatbelt at all times with an airbag, adn wear a helmut when you ride ...if not your just a hypocrit(sp)........I admit I dont use a RSL I dont wear my seat belt in the car.....but again my choices....you all do what you want adn I'll do what i want.....As Long as I dont jepridize YOUR saftey thats what matters and my desision to not use one DOES not jepredize anyones saftey. And if you believe that this decsion to not use one does risk YOUR safty ....well then there are a TON of jumpers up there doing it!!! jason

Actually after I got off student status I rented up until jump 18......When I did rent, the rigs I rented did not have an RSL.... not because I choose to not have one but because it didnt worry me whether to use it or not!!! When I bought my gear I knew that it didnt cvome with a RSL and I was fine with that...I didnt want one....why?? because I feel confident that i will be able to handle myself in an emergency situation!! I've seen what they do I know how they work an i know they've helped jumpers and I know how they've hurt jumpers!!! I made my informed decision that I do not want one.......if anyone thinks that I should use it...well then thats your parogative (sp).......The reasons I dont want one are my reasons and the reasons you wnat or dont want one is yours.......Now you may say "well what does he know ..he only has 76 jumps".....well I know enough from reading and talking to others to make an "informed" decision!! I'll just leave it at that!!!! jason

Thats something only you can answer...I agree with Phree...look up the info in the archives cuase your going to get a million reasons why you should and a million reasons why you shouldnt...and then someone will say somehting about an AAD adn then all hell will break lose!!!!......but serioulsy its a choice you need to make!!! jason

No I "S" fold the entire canpoy up first.........but because of the "cigar roll" at the top none of the loose shit comes out!!! Then I put the entire canopy in the bag at once.....I know what your talking about though ...I've heard people call it a reverse "S" fold...I've tried that but dont like it!!! jason

No it isnt a psycho pack.......when you lay the canopy down and get all the air out of it usaully when i would start the "S" folds , by the time it was ready to put into the bag all the shit for the top would be slipping out all over the place. So instead when your laying on the canopy gettng the air out,, right at top there is usaaully enough materail to creat a pocket and you take all the top shit, stuff it under the canopy and then take the "pocket" stuff one end under. then fold the other end over so it seals everything up,,,then roll the top under the canopy jsut a little and when you get up put your knee on it....the reach for the lines and start your first "S" fold and when you start your second fold everything is still nice and neatly tuccked away and it jsut slides in the bag!!!!! jason

Well got my hornet 150 hooked up this weekend and gave her its maiden voyage!!! First jump I opened at about 7000ft just so could have plenty of alt to check everything out!! This canopy ROCKS!!! Nice smooth opening with a standard propack....very light toggle pressure and front riser (compared to the pd170) and jsut a fun canopy to fly....even gets a little surf with slow straight on approach!!! Plus I learned a lot about hooking up canopies, line continuiety (sp) checks, slinks, setting the brakes, and some other stuff!! Even learned a great new packing technique called the "cigar roll" (thats what I was told it was called) that makes putting that new zp in the bag with No problems (big thanks to nick) !!What a great weekend!! jason

I cant imagine how you guys can go up there without an Alt!!! I mean yes you should learn to use your eyes and stuff but WOW ......what if like was mention before you have a mal....I mean if you have a dytter I guess that would work but then those go out sometimes too!! Hey I'm not preaching...its your jump I just dont think I could do it!! But then I guess someone could ask me how I can jump w/out an aad!! But thats another thread

Doenst a company out there make a alt that is a digital needle...its all black and as you fall littel sections disapper for like every 100ft.....whats your opinion on those!! I've seen them on Para gear I think jason

And dont worry about rushing because of the less altitude....we had to do everything your doinng from 9500ft and you still have plenty of time after that!!!.........(if you can when your ready do a jump where all you do is fly on your back!!!! Its really fun and it taught me some new control methods when being unstable....just make sure you have a wrist alt!!!!! jason

One of my favorite things to do is dive outa the 182 into a front flip and stable out!!! I know it sounds scary but its not....I had to do the dive on my LVL 7 outa one as soon as I dove out just go into a good arch....you may go slightly head low at first but you'll stable out just fine!!! Believe me I know the feeling and it scared me a little but just dont get to worked up over it , relax and if you tumble you should already know how to get back to the BTE position.....if your on your back just "roll outa bed" ....You'll do fine!! Soon you'll be wanting to dive outa everything !!

I feel the same about property tax....in Utah you buy a car you pay the property tax....but then every year at REG time you have to pay it again and again WTF!!!!! jason
