  1. Thank God. Clearly I was hallucinating about the grinding with Q and his French girl. And the karaoke. That could not have happened.
  2. JT, crashing into a building by accident is pretty rare. This meathead did himself in, in a grand manner that complimented his celebrity status. Dollar to a doughnut. What an ass.
  3. Suicide. What an ass. "Poor me I didn't make it far enough into the post season". Criminy. Crash into the ocean, asshole.
  4. My Governor can crush your Governor's head like a grape. Neener Neener Neener.
  5. It was really good to see you! I like the 400 way better than my 10D. It's super fast and that 10.1 chip could allow for some pretty serious cropping without losing image resolution. I got a bite switch for it and I'm still getting used to it, bit it focuses extremely fast and I did several jumps this weekend on autofucus. You'll probably see some of them in Wings ads.
  6. For the money, you can't beat that Sigma 15. I've got I have a 14 aspherical, but it was crazy expensive and is really heavy. Extremely cool for Hercules exits. That Sigma is tough, too. Iwan face-planted his in the desertand it was fine.
  7. I'll let you know in about an hour when the sky clears over Elsinore.
  8. Well, I've spent the last 4 years at the Boogie, but this year I'm going to do something with my girls on their vacation. Plus, I never thought I'd say this, I'm just about skydived-out. By the time we get through Nationals, I'll be ready for a break. Time for a youngster to step up and surf the band. Have fun!
  9. I don't see a lanc port. Other than that, me likey.
  10. I don't know the current ange rates, but you should check out the Diamond series as well. I jump the .5 on my primary 4 way camera with a .3 on the backup zoomed just a little. You can zoom the .3 Diamond about halfway (I think it's the same for the WayCool's) so, if you can buy just one, get the .3 and zoom it just a bit. JP
  11. op a reserv I practice just chopping in case of needing to chop the main in high wind conditions, mostly with tandems. I had a pilot chute in tow as the cause of my third sport chop. I was high and directly over the landing area and took a moment to consider. I came up with fear of ending up with two out, cause I expected to have the main deploy at any moment and was afraid that moment would come right when I deployed the reserve. I chopped the main, waited a beat and then deployed my reserve. After the reserve was open and I was under canopy I felt a tug on the container and felt the main come free. The container is looser with the reserve out and the bag then released. I vote that the pilot chute out is a partial. The pilot chute is a component of the main, so if a part of the main has been deployed the malfunction is partial.
  12. I'll be using mine when it arrives tomorrow. B&H sold out of them. Can't wait.
  13. Well congratulations to you too then my friend!! When are you gonna be back in Byron you rockstar 4way videographer dude? November. We're on like Donkey Kong every weekend between now and Nationals. You should pick up a team and go down there with me and Jason. Road trip like the old days.
  14. Happy Birthday Iwan! How funny, your birthdate is the same as my wedding anniversary.
  15. My Nizzle, I love that "song". Thanks. But what are guys like me to do with guys like you who were doing significant things before they were of legal drinking age? I think all of us have gotta do something. We may be wrong (I certainly was), but we need to go somewhere. Where?
  16. Lori is so nice. I call it "mercenary" camera flying. I would suggest your proof is how you performed at previous Nationals. If you are good and fly two good cameras, you are worth slot, registration, and $20 a jump. If you are a knucklehead with a flight recorder you are worth less, but if it's not on video, clearly it didn't happen. This is the first year I've trained with an advanced team and will compete with them. The pressure is very high. They spend a ton of money on getting to the podium, and the camera flier better not be the determining factor as to what step they are on. Get a team before they get to nationals so you can practice with them at least one day.
  17. That is so freaking wrong, in the rightest kinda way. JP
  18. What a stud. The coolest thing about the new record is that when people ask me "Did you read about that guy that did 600-something skydives in a day?" And I'll say "Yeah, he taught me how to teach skydiving" Ha! Congrats, Jay! It was fun seeing Yong again in Elsinore and that she was going out there to pack etc. in pursuit of your goal. Inspiring. JP
  19. Just do not undermine the locals. There will be several teams that will break their camera flier right before Nationals, or other complications will have them seeking camera fliers. I jumped as a mercenary the last two years with intermediate teams. It's great fun, and you are frankly better than nothing. Just let it be known on here that you are available and put an ad in the classifieds here too. Don't oversell your ability, be honest. This year I have a very serious Advanced team, and we'll have several hundred training jumps together by Nats. It would be really awful to take on an advanced team you hadn't jumped with before and took them out of contention with video busts. If you have a successful history at previous Nationals you could be looking at something like slot, fees and $20 a jump. That's for a helmet with two good cameras.
  20. Ha! I WAS ON THAT LOAD! HAHAR! I had never seen a pilot take off an Otter while looking back into the cabin the whole time. I actually have video of them being trained up by the tandem masters and was very impressed with the professionalism of the tandem and video staff. As to the whole MILF thing, yeah one of the girls is a mom, and her mom was there to give all the girls T shirts when they landed. It's a real different kinda way to make a living, but it's a regular kinda job down here in SOCAL. As to the girls boobs, she has extremely low body fat, so the boobs are never going to look remotely real. And she won the boobs anyhow. On a TV show. Her mom told me all about it. Only in LA.
  21. Yeah, I solo'd a glider at that age and a couple Cessna variants before I was 18. I think the same rules still apply. The biggest danger to her is the dropzone, not the droppers.
  22. For you newer camera fliers: Look at Tony's numbers. Almost all of that is camera too. He knows what he's talking about, and plays a mean drum solo too....
  23. You staying with us Jean? Heck, with my Nationals training schedule, I may not actually make it....
  24. I LOVE this stuff! But I'm a voyeour. We'll find out some really interesting stuff when they untangle our DNA. I'll wait till then. If they fing Cro-magnon man in my DNA I'll accept evolution. If they don't, I'll be very interested in the debate!
  25. I had a similar exchange with Jan before I met her and knew her CV. Jan is very direct and forthright and it can sometimes (I did initially) be interpreted as hostility or condescenscion (there's no way I spelled that right). Anyhow. Read through the percieved bluster and her analysis is just about always right on. JP
