I was so front-loaded with getting it produced I neglected how to sell it. I'm working on that, and purchased a domain name today. It's 'PullTime.net'. My duplicator arrives from B&H on Monday, and at that point there will be no need to backorder, cause that sucker puts out 50 at a time. I got the home addressed of Skymama, SkymonkeyONE, and LouDiamond, but I need Hooknswoops, BillVon's, Remster's (Ack, mailing to Canada means standing in line ) and Sangiro's new one. I'll get those out today. JP

You go to VHS so you can linear edit. It is much faster the way we script our tandems. There is some quality loss, but since we're not using any compression (recording at highest quality) it's not too bad I must say it's much better to do it all digitally, the quality of my miniDV to DVD is outstanding.

It's a linear system and prints the DVD at the same time the VHS records. The dubber (I love our setup, we have a dedicated dubber) does it in the same time as the VHS process. It might add a minute, just to handle the DVD and then finalize it. There's a minor drop in quality, because the Mini DV is recorded linearly (is that a word?) to VHS, and then the DVD is burned off of that.

It's a Philips DVDR75. $439. The guy who owns our DZ video concession uses one, and I don't think I'll use it quite that hard. Tough environment for electronics too, the hangar.

Actually, I think I can recode my timeline in PAL and just burn a copy in that format. We'll see when I get my "real" duplicator later this week. My DVD recorder is a +R

Phree I'm back to being retired. I gave up on being a bureaucrat back in August. I worked on it full time for about 10 days. I remember Brent Finley saying he spent 80 hours editing his first boogie video, so that was kind of my guage. I had to wait a little bit for some footage from Greg Gasson and Ben, so I could mix the mood up right. Gasson has two EPIC skydives along with tons that are truly inspired. That guy's stuff just about always got it's own music track, plus the Nationals stuff of Betsy is pure poetry. Actually, the hardest thing is the music. I only use non-copyrighted stuff and it's hard to keep the pace moving with over 300 clips. I could NEVER have gotten this thing done at this pace if I was still working for the man.

Yeah but I've got a concealed carry permit. BWAH! It wasn't that hard. I just had to spread Greg Gasson's footage out enough that people didn't realize it wasn't all at his level. It's an hour, 12 chapters, cool porno-esque uncopyrighted music soundtrack, me getting my ass chewed by Mr. Burke, Iwan crashing, drunk monkeys.

I could never get my computer to burn a disc of any length. I went with a DVD recorder and I have it connected to my PC via firewire. Then I "Print to tape" right onto the DVD recorder. It's working great. JP

That's cool Bets. You SDA people see a lot of video, so having you guys like it makes me very happy indeed. It's one thing to throw together some clips for friends, but a whole different thing when you have the support of DZ.com and SDA and really wanting to not let them down. So, to do this right, I have bought some serious gear, and I'm hoping to do this full time. I got one of these things coming (see picture) so that I will be able to provide good customer service to my standards. Like I said from the beginning, I won't take money until I have product in hand. I've got 7 burned, Bets got the first one, and both BigBen and Scooter have copies. The next ones go to the moderators that attended. My current setup requires 1:1 time, so it's an hour a piece. The new machine will do much better than that. So, I should be shipping in quantity by next week, and possibly by the end of this week if the machine gets here and I can figure it out. A PM that you're interested in getting one, or just posting that here, will ease my mind a bit.
