I bought three Wings rigs before I got a sponsorship deal with them. My new ones have all the bells and whistles, the articulation, the cut-in laterals, bright stainless, tye-die, etc. Know who is giving you advice, and whether they are getting a deal from the manufacturer they are recommending. I've provided the bulk of the photography that Wings has used recently, and they have taken care of my gear needs in return. That said, try an articulated Wings rig on with the cut in laterals, and then try on the Infinity with similar options. I've found so much more flexibility with the laterals that I can fly deeper on tandem videos. It's a remarkable option. If the Infinity is a better fit and is more comfortable, buy it. I doubt it, though. I've now owned 5, and loved each of them. Cheers! Oh! I've got the birdman mods and the new bags on the new ones, and they are absolutely dynamite! The new bag design makes for a very clean deployment!

Hey, if you guys do this the first week in August, I'll even buy a round. Right when I figured out the Metro, we moved on to Scotland.

Oh, and the deep fried Mars bar place is closed. Yick anyhow.

You silly man. I am travelling via train in the land of overt hostility to elevators and ramps. I can navigate London via Underground whilst carrying 60 pounds of rigs/helmet/suit, 30 pounds of camera and electronic gear, and my luggage which includes clothes other than DZ-centric fashion. deBar is welcome to pee in my lap and lick my face if he'll just carry a couple bags. OK, back to the travelogue. Edinburgh is freaking beautiful. The Scottish are a whole different thing from the Londoners, and it's much less aloof. Very nice people, and absolutely stunning old city. The weather has been a blessing and we spent half the day up in the Castle. Slightly drunk now from two pints of Stella Artois, but off to see more. Off to see tartan weaving, or something. Much easier to take on a couple of pulled pints. See you later in the week G-Money. JP

I'll be staying with him next week. You want I should work him over for the dates you want? I may even be granted an audience with the forked one. Do you have a petition for me to present? -from the Royal Mile in Scotland, JP

So far, so good. A London skydiver set us up in a great hotel, the transit system here works great, the beer is warm but very good, and the food is good too! Tomorrow on to Scotland! Oh, I'm in an internet cafe on Baker Street, and you're not. Oh, and when I talk to people like I talk to Gareth, they just cry. None of them have suggested Skinner boxes for my kids, either...

It's at my Mom's. Ask her. I wouldn't 4 wheel it in the landing area again, Connie is still pissed. And yeah, I get the joke

Little miss World Freefly convention! Mini-Nac is doomed. "My summer with the yankee twins"

Could be either my weatherman sounding California accent, or the dulcet "get in my belleh!" Highlands accent of one NacMacFeegle. Or his his son, or my daughters. They have this like wine tasting, but with whiskey that I am sure will have the children being better drivers. OK, I'm still at SFO cause my Virgin flight (that's an airline) has been delayed 4 hours. Read a while, had a cup of coffee, and now I am postwhoring in a place that let me in with a thumbprint. No worries, that guy had another thumb. I begin drinking at 5.

Begins now. We're out the door. Stay tuned for amazing tales of me and the family meeting lots of neat people who talk funny.

Should the Reserve be larger or same size as the Main?
Deuce replied to skymiles's topic in Gear and Rigging
My combination is 143 reserve over 150 main. PDR and Spectre. I jump more than 10 times a week, at least, and at different altitudes, but MSL and density. My 143 handles similar to my main. What's your weight? I have a couple of Wings W8's and there's nothing big about them in the plane. I don't think you'd gain much going smaller than a 143. We had a friend pull so many G's on a spin up recently that he couldn't lift his arms up to his handles to cutaway, he blacked out and the problem fixed itself. When he came to, his hands did the last thing his brain was thinking when he lost consciousness, and he chopped. Probably a good thing, as he's on a sub-100 hyper-perfomance main. His reserve was just a little bigger, and does not require some sort of hook to land well. It seems silly to get into a cutaway situation only to have a reserve that requires almost as much attention to land safely. -
Oh, man. It's 200 pounds of person strapped to your front you don't know, 50 pounds of gear on your back that you didn't pack, 6 handles that have to be pulled in exactly the right order, and the whole events starts off with a pilot chute in tow. Yeah, let's get 8 of them together I'll be in the video rotation on that day.

Yeah, yeah, and I'd suggest a Wings. Whatever you do, get yourself measured by somebody who knows what they are doing. Folks like Bonnie and JP have lots of experience with lots of manufacturer's and know from experience how to fix these problems. For example, if Bonnie measures you for a rig, it gets shipped to her and usually you are gonna try it on right in the store when you get it. She (or whatever store you are working through) will check the fit and finish and hopefully give you the big thumbs-up to go jump it. But, if something's wrong, they'll get it back in the box and on the way ASAP. Funny, when I was at TonySuits in April I was present when Tony measured several people. He didn't say the inch measurements out loud when he took them. I think that's kind of important, cause pants-size is not waist size. Let someone else measure you. I got Skybitch to measure me when I was down in Perris for my new rigs and they fit freaking GREAT!

I've got a 10D with a Sigma 14 aspherical on one, and a PC 120 with a Diamond .3 on the other. I can't afford to replace either of those, so no, I'm not wary, it's a very dependable mounting system.

I got some blondie pictures from the Holiday Boogie '03, but you're not alone in any of them.
-
Well, professionalism is number one, and I kind of think that includes organizers and that stuff. Vibe is next Facilities is third. What I like about Eloy and Perris is that they have good cooked food on premises, and gear stores and on-site rigging that have everything. We don't have running water, nor flush toilets at Byron, but it is one of the best places to skydive.

Where is a picture of me?!?! Bah. Like that wasn't easy.

Start selling tickets. That attempt will certainly be something to see.

We heard you the first time, genius.

It was nice having you visit. See you next time. This is Lany doing her picture thing.

Yeah, it's St. Michael. Police Officers, Paratroopers, and other dangerous professions. (Camera, AFF, Tandem should apply here) For fun jumpers it might be St. Vincent? Isn't he the one for lost items? Like minds?

This is me. And don't be chicken. Oh, Remi, tomorrow to London, and I arrive like the day after tomorrow or something. I am not all that worried about the Britain leg of my trip, or Sweden. But I'm staying with Skreamer for a few days after. Apparently they have this "Bar Bee Queue" tradition there and I'll be exposed to it beginning August 1.
