Congratuations, Tonto. I hope work doesn't drag you down to much. So, I'll make a jump for you, today. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

If the iMac itself is working right, you ought to be able to just run the airport setup assistant and tell it to copy the settings from the iMac. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

It sounds like your base station is trying to assign IP addresses, when it just needs to pass them through. Is your router set up as DHCP? -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

white_falcon, Please try to keep your discussions civil, and oriented toward the points of the debate/discussion, rather than the people. Consider this your warning. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Rhino, You need to calm down. Your post has several personal attacks in it. I know that you (of all people) have been warned (repeatedly) in the past. Why don't you take 2 weeks off from Speaker's Corner and try to come back a little more relaxed? -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

That's the question, isn't it? When is it ok (morally right is perhaps too strong a term) to meddle in the internal affairs of another nation? According to the UN charter, I believe the answer is "never". But at some gut level, part of me says that there comes a time when you have to intervene (the overused example being when that nations internal affairs involve shipping millions off to death camps). So, when is it ok to push your values on another people/nation/culture? When their values involve subjugating minorities and women? When their values involve killing minorities? Never? I think there has to be a time when you say "that's wrong, and it's wrong enough that I'm going to step in." I'm not saying that any particular case reaches that point, but I am saying that such a point exists. Cultural relativism only works so far. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Ah, well then we're into a discussion of cultural imperialism. Is it morally right to force your culture on others who do not share it? What if their culture involves the ritual torture and sacrifice of every third child (a practice that, we'll assume, you find abhorrent)? Then is it still morally repugnant to make them stop (i.e. force your culture on them)? Now, what if the thing you find abhorrent is their treatment of women, or religious minorities, or ethnic minorities? Is it ok to force your cultural views (that minorities, women, etc, ought to be accorded relatively equal rights) on folks who don't share them? -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Two thoughts: It's not terribly relevant how we ended up there (unless you just want to have a historical argument). The real issue is what we do now. What would you think if, hypothetically, Bush sold the US citizens the WMD story, knowing it to be false? And his real aim was to create a democracy in the center of the middle east? Supposing that it all worked out, and Iraq (eventually) became a functioning democracy with human rights, and women in bikinis and all that is good and right, would that end have justified those means? -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

So, I've heard the names, but I'm wondering if anyone has any details on the types of suits these will be? I'm sure that those who are really in the know can't say, but even a general type? What I've dug out of other places: Phi: Aerobatic suit. Blade: "Max" suit. Continued development along the S-3 lines, for best glide angle. Legend: Anyone heard anything? Is this a re-do of the "classic" line for an updated beginner suit? Anyone know anything? Thanks! -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

If I'm reading the article correctly, right about it being (a) possible, and (b) worth the price, to establish a democratic government in Iraq. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Since tfelber lists his home DZ as Perris/Elsinore, I'd bet he was just making a little joke. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

I have banned you from the Bonfire for 14 days for posting that popup link. I'm going to edit your post to remove that. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Did you get a haircut? It looks so neat and well kept. Nice suit! Can't wait to see some V-1, S-3, SG flocking. That ought to give us a good feel for the relative flight envelopes. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

The Dbag itself should always be secured to the object. I prefer to have the holder tied in as well, if at all possible. If the D-bag comes after you, it's pretty much game over. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Rather than let this devolve into yet another rehashing of the LeroyDB saga, I'm going to lock this thread. I'm rather tired of policing this. John, if you persist in trying to bring this up on this forum, I will ban you. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

MINi Cooper or MINI Cooper S. You'd get a base S or a loaded Cooper in that price range. I'd go with the S. I absolutely love my MCS. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Would you have to apply for (and be denied) a permit in order to use this argument? -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

This is technically the same as US National Parks. It's technically legal, if you get a permit, but the NPS management policy is not to issue permits (except for the one each year for Bridge Day). -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Non-western societies tend to have a greater disparity of wealth distribution (Marxist propaganda notwithstanding). Those nations do actually have considerable wealth--it's just in the hands of a very few. In the oil sheikdoms, it's not even a case of rich and poor. It's more plutocrats and starving. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

I wonder how much of that has to do with economics? All those people growing up in near (or total) poverty have very little opportunity to gain the education necessary for most Nobel Prizes. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
