    Post your rig

Give me 2-3 weeks and i'll post a picture of marvelooouuusss Mirage G4
  2. it's almost a month since the record, but there are still no pictures (only in skydiving magazine) or videos. Where are they? For some this is more important than 300-way "George just lucky i guess!"
  3. You already got it (mirage g4)? didn't you had the shippment date march 31st? So it was a little early
  4. I inhale as much air as i can, so my chest is the biggest it can be. and then tighten my cheststrap so it's tigh (in standing position). and when i exhale the chest strap normaly isn't so tight any more. And that's how much i tighten my chest strap. "George just lucky i guess!"
  5. "George just lucky i guess!"
  6. This weekend there was some prety strong wind blowing at our dz. And later that evening we were discussing if it effects canopy flying at all. We all had different opinons. Anyway my opinion is that the wind itself doesn't have an effect at all (talking about flying with canopy above 1000 feet). Canopy doesn't know that the wind is blowing it just has its own airspeed, no matter the wind. The problem at flying canopy in high winds is that the air is much more turbulent. And the turbulence can colapse your canopy, but not the wind itself. Exact example we were talking about is that when you are flying downwind and do a fast 180 turn upwind, the wind can colapse your canopy. I don't think that's the case because you are moving with the same airspeed no matter how strong is the wind. Turbulence is another thing as i said... So what do you think? "George just lucky i guess!"
  7. Sorry for the stupid question but, how did you make the 540 turn? with toggles or front risers? I can't see from the video. And it seems a little to fast turn ratio for front risers, but i've never seen a vx 85 flying, so i'm not sure. "George just lucky i guess!"
  8. I totally agree. Both are very safe, but which one is better looking or comfortable is everyones personal opinion. For some more comfortable means "having a brick on their backs" for others it's "soft as it can be"... it's like ice cream indeed. I like chocolate "George just lucky i guess!"
  9. Hmm, everybody talks in a way that when you have a hard spin or you have a malfunction, that it's harder to see things and think which is left which is right. Well i don't say it isn't for some people. everybody sure is different. But as far as i know myself acting in such circumstances, my performance (thinking, reflexes, ...) was way better than in normal life. more like superthinking with superstrenght. I'm not saying that you should have handles hidden in the color of your jumpsuit or similar and think "if i can't see them now, i'll find them when having a malfunction because my brain will work at 200% then anyway". Though i ordered a rig with matching soft handles, i'd recomend to anyone to get them in high contrast color (red, pink,..) and in different colors. but like it was mentioned before, you should trust/know yourself and how you will react at such times. don't always listen to others, you have a brains of your own too. listen to others advices and reconsider them, but you don't have to "take orders" from them, no matter who that person is, including me (this post). Just something to think about.
  10. if that's the case i'll celebrate two things on 31. march. My rig being made and your birthday Yeah i'm sure bill (unisyn) told me my rig would be done on 31. march only so he could surprise me and send it this week "George just lucky i guess!"
  11. yeah where are the thongs. congrats, thousands more
  12. hehe, so you still remember me oredering g4
  13. I guess you are talking about mirage g4, right? When did you order it (was it mirage g4 or g4.1)? "George just lucky i guess!"
  14. I too think there shoudln't be any problem getting 170 in J2. We packed cobalt 170 in J1 with no big problem. "George just lucky i guess!"
  15. Main reason is because i wanted to be an independent skydiver. And the second is, because i trust myself the most, and really like to know that reserve is packed properly. I heard of many cases when riggers were packing reserves in the way, they wouldn't open. "George just lucky i guess!"
  16. As far as i know, all reserves pack the same, the difference is how you put it in the freebag. well there is slight differences in packing tempo vs. PD, but mostly because you can put each canopy easier in the bag that way. But the basic packing is the same. "George just lucky i guess!"

    NASA TV live

Cool so you'll know to answer one of my questions. with one skydiving buddy of mine we are having this argue. he's saying that space shuttles are all made of verrryyy old electronics. no transistors or similar. made only of (i don't know how to call this element in english...) "bulbs" so is it true. or are there transistors and modern electronic systems in the heart of space shuttle. "George just lucky i guess!"
