  1. Nice! btw, I really like that kind of Bullfight... celebrety bulls, live to fight another day. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  2. How come nobody has addressed the fact that the track was diamond grinded after the qualifyer? It's not like these tires just all of the sudden weren't good enough as per Michelin... the track surface was changed for goodness sake. New surface = new rubber. They should have waived the penalties for changing tires as they had made it necessary to do so for the continued safety of the drivers. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  3. Looks real nice, congratulations Have fun and ride safe. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  4. The issue is that the track had been modified after the qualifyer. Well, no modified but Diamond Grinded. The crime is changing the tracks surface, and then not waiving the penalty for teams using different rubber. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  5. The force of gravity on your body acts the same way coming out an airplane as it would jumping off a cliff. That is to say it wants to accelerate you at 9.81m/s/s or 32.2 ft/s/s. As mentioned, the difference is in the horizontal speed already achieved by the plane you are traveling in before exit. In the absence of air... or the friction created by it, you would absolutely still have that "heart skips a beat" feeling but because of your forward exit speed, the air rushing below you at the same speed but opposite direction is already in it's relative sense "supporting" you against gravity's relative desire to "drop" you. Upon leaving the aircraft, skydivers call the arched trajectory their bodies follow "The Hill". ...pretty cool stuff huh? Now get out there and JUMP! Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  6. Oh don't say "Can't" and make 'er feel like you're challenging 'er. lol. Earth breaks, Earth changes shape. Once a little more... say "physically independent" from the rest of the continent, we'll have to see how structurally sound that thickness (meaning 'tallness' really) is. I've not thought I'd see 'er sink... but she's definitely breaking off soon IMO. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  7. I have voted yes. Not sure what exactly you mean by "the end" but I have always (always) believed that Cali would break off within my lifetime... sorry guys But don't worry, you can chalk that up to one more crazy man's prophecies... I also think the end of the world as we know it is to occure before I am gone. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  8. I thought the same thing... then I remembered that some people set packing weights right on the risers instead of in the main pack tray. This is done because it's easy to keep the risers together and thusly even. But if the packing weight is sitting on your risers, said risers won't come off the rig when you run your hands up the lines. ... How you miss the teflon cable sticking out when stowing the risers is up to you though. Anyway, glad this turned out okay. I'm picturing the same scenario but where the left side is released... and there's an RSL attached. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  9. Good show Zep. I found this worth repeating in case it is overlooked. Remember what your canopy does upon releasing the breaks... not an attractive move at touchdown time. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  10. That's not how I read it. Only parts of the suit are done in ZP and they are the parts where you don't want the extra drag. From the site: "..Zero Perosity layers for speed on chest and thighs." Most of the suit is made up of honeycombed polycotton and the stretchy parts are lycra. The suit looks pretty sharp! It would have to be made to order and would make a shitty second-hander though because of there is any "flap" in the chest and thigh ZP areas, I imagine it would throw your flying Waaay the hell off. 11. Oops, I think I misread the title of your post. I thought it was "I feel like getting naked... bring your camera." My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  12. Oh Kel hang, in there. What's wrong with hooking up on DZ.com anyway? ... It seems I've had myself some pretty interesting PM sessions lately. Hmmmmm. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  13. Okay Flygirl... you see that quote at the top and you think I'm gonna call bullshit like the rest eh? Well I'm not. In my opinion, (offensive as it may be to some intructors) and depending on the DZ, you could be absolutely right! This sport was founded by Alpha Males... It has evolved quite a bit but it's not like the attitute is entirely gone. However, it's not like you can't turn it around. I see hot chickies getting ALL SORTS of free coach jumps and stuff. All the time! (It's just not fair!!) But to me this means you need extra dilligence to keep yourself safe. Don't just go with it if you are being rushed through instruction. I mean, isn't that commen sense? Ask many questions. Ask many people. Someone responded to the likes of: "Pretty girls get more attention and therefore more instruction... so there!". HA!... those pretty girls get the attention, likely not the kind they need to learn how to save their asses... pretty and round as those asses mey be.
  14. Vibes from Ontario towards your speedy recovery. Hey girl, I hope this is not the lesson you've learned. Jumping barefoot can be a TON of fun and a very liberating experience. How about "If jumping barefoot, don't drag my toes on Tarmac upon landing.".... or "FLARE out a landing." Those are good lessons and they address what you did wrong... which was not jumping barefoot
  15. Somebody remind me... Just why is it we aren't supposed to objectify women, using them for sex alone? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  16. If you held it upright, and those pictures are what you looked like for most of the jump, and it's your second attempt... You Rock Dude!!! If the two shots are more or less the body position you are holding, you are likely backsliding a bit. Note you are leaning forward a tiny bit, pushing air forward of you and pushing you aft. Balance an imaginary book on your head. Try to get your head atop your neck, squared with the shoulders, line your spine up with that to sit upright and you are laughing! (well, even more than you appear to be in the picutures. lol) Nice job man! My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  17. I got my A by jump 27 going static line progression. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  18. I don't really know what "flogged out" means... if it means gutless from wear, all I did was request he not run the bike that day until I got there. It started right quick whilst cold. Then I had him open it up and give me a couple high speed passes as I stood on the road. The bike seemed to accelerate very quickly without any problems and it sounded real nice. Again, this was right after having started cold. The downshift sounded real sharp too. The thing has 34,000 kms on it so I'm sure it's worn to that extent but he rode it really well so I figure if it's made it this far... My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  19. Bump again! Here she is! Nick's newest toy! This listed on Friday. Went to see it and snatched 'er up on Saturday. It is being safetied today and it's a beautiful day. If all goes well, I shall be riding tonight! 1993 Suzuki Katana 34,000kms, Ballistic saddle bags shown, One large Shoei helmet, and a kick-ass rain suit: $3,700.00 The bike is so clean. The seller just finished high school and needs to buy a car to go away to college. He put new tires on 'er last year but only rode about 4-5,000 kms. The chain was replaced two years ago. I remember this bike listing last year and this guy bought it out from under me! What are the chances?? Insurance is going to be a steal on this thing. I have to set it up today. I can't harldy wait! My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  20. Yup, it was done on purpose alright. There were strips of cotton sewn inside the cells to absorbe as much of the flamable liquid as possible. It was kept in a bucket of kerosene on the ride to altitude and then hand-deployed. He used a safety flare to ignite it I think. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  21. I'd post that I loved it... except I'm worried that my mom might someday read this My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  22. Agreed, it depends on the type of abuse it's taken. But I was told it is overpriced so I was just wondering if there was a suggested value. His asking price seems about right when compared to others listed of the same age and kms. I'd say a tiny bit on the higher side but then there's all the aftermarket. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  23. It's Canadian dollars. That would be $4,750.00 USD. I figure he's got about $1800CND ($1444USD) conservatively in aftermarket. He'll have it safetied and throw in a jaket and helmet. Opinions please, what do you figure is reasonable with 17,500kms (10,867miles) ? Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  24. Bump! Okay, I've got a good feeling about this one. Have a look ladies and gents: 2001 Katana 600 17,500kms K&N Filter Dynojet jet kit Yoshimura Exhaust New tires $6000.00 Cosmetics include white lights, solo seat, blue tinted windscreen and indiglo gauges. One of the signals is broken (it was kicked) but he will fix it and have the bike certified if he gets his asking price. He's firm on $6000.00 but will throw in a Suzuki textile Jacket and helmet. Barring any obvious problems when I get to see it. What do you all think of the asking price? She sure is a pretty one eh? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  25. Maybe not regret. But I certainly hope you reconsider your stance a little. This is not a risky sport. I repeat, this is not a risky sport. The chances of something going wrong on your next dive are slim. But there is danger, when something does go wrong, your chances of solving the problem are also slimmer than any whuffo would enjoy. That's the rush of a malfuncition for ya, you have a very narrow margin of error. But if the high you seek is of the "Oh my God I'm gonna die!!!... Whew, I didn't die, that was a close one" nature... then I suggest you take up Russian Roulet and leave skydiving to those of us who get high from the realisation of human flight. Just my $0.02CND Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
