oh.... it's so so SO different... you'll love it.. no more RV. yup, both with 300 hp engines and wingtips upgraded props (3 blade... longer). Jake was gone before i started in aug '98, i never met him. The second pilot now is Greg, a glider instructor in real life (can you have a better person in case of an engine out?)... kickass pilot and a hell of a guy to party with. but of course! Must be a hillbilly Kansas thing.... pierced tongue is becoming quite common in the northeast.... I think pierced tongue is pretty cool on girls... it generally looks pretty cool, is fun to watch them play with, on top of the other *ahem* benefits (*NOTE* a tongue ring with poor technique can be a really BAD thing... please be careful ) Landing without injury is not necessarily evidence that you didn't fuck up... it just means you got away with it this time

An alouette isn't quite a bell 412, but yes it's also fun... (then again.. not evety 412 pilot is Rod, so..... hmm.. i though i had a point *shrug*) just remember not to hide from the pilot to get good ground video, 'eh? actually no, they're right.... currency is very important, even to experienced jumpers... extremely so for people just learning. The stuff that's being tught isn't natural, what we do isn't natural (striclty speaking, in relation to life on the ground), and it's all about memorization and muscle memory. The longer you go between jumps, the more you have to remind yourself of each time, and the longer it takes the habbits to form Even people born into a language will start to lose it if they don't use it for long enough (ask any exchange student... a german friend of mine was horribly embarassed to be asking the german teacher to translate something for her after begin out for only 9 months). Even experienced jumpers (conscientios ones) go over their emercenyt procedures quite often to keep them in muscle memory, because they don't use them often. it's not BS, really. well... if you've jumped already.. doesn't it feel great?!?!? if not -- i broke my ankle on jump 230. I was out for 4 months with family and friends pouring anti-skydiving drivel down my throat tthe whole time.... sufficed to say, jump 231 was the scariest jump i ever made, but once i was out the door it all melted away, and it was just like i'd never left, but better git yerself out there girl!!! it'll all come back! blue skies

i really think it has more to do with the canopy..... i've had 1 "snappy" opening on my samurai in over 400 jumps and even that was not what i would consider "hard" leave the nose open and not pushed in all you like.. it'll still open nicely. YMMV, of course... but this is what i've heard from most every samurai pilot i've spoken to -- they just open great, now matter how badly i pack it Landing without injury is not necessarily evidence that you didn't fuck up... it just means you got away with it this time
