A plane ticket to Europe, unlimited train fare, BASE Gear, skydiving Gear, 3 or 4 months, and a few friends..... It's a dream right now, but dreams do come true sometimes..... HAVE FUN... ...JUST DONT DIE

It does enrich my life, just sometimes more than others..... There have been times in my life that I didnt think about or do anything that wasnt related to skydiving. and there have been times that I have totaly quit, gave away my gear, totaly gave up jumping for over 2 years..... I have built apps 3 asp, asp.net both built on SQL for DZ's..... I kinda gave up on pushing my App when i thought i was giving up programming.... I'd have to dig through my stuff, but i bet I have a bunch of backend stuff that could be used..... HAVE FUN... ...JUST DONT DIE

I met Clint at The PIA Symposium (some wuffo was buying us drink after drink after drink....) Dude's a class act.... anyways I can see those prices for a DZ the really isnt set up to cater fun jumpers yet. A small "for profit" (not a club) DZ that is trying to get a foot hold in todays economy is going to have to charge fun jumpers more money. Today all DZ's make the money doing tandem's, and cessna DZ's almost have to discourage fun jumpers because of the money they could lose by not getting that last tourist up in the air. I say support them, help them get this place up and running strong..... they get bigger planes, then you see the price stay the same but you get more altitude..... The one thing you cant forget is the place you will be jumping..... what a view..... I tell ya, if i hadnt tried to play superman through an intersection and gimped myself all up. I would be there.... (I will be there next spring for a BASE course....) HAVE FUN... ...JUST DONT DIE

DAMN.... That reminds me of one of my friends.... This was back around 97ish i guess (we all jumped skydiving gear), I was working ground crew that night. well 2 of my friends made the LONG climb up the A (just a bit over 2000' to the top exit point) well when they get up there one guy's closing loop broke and his there sit's his D-bag sit's on the platform... well this dude wasnt gonna climb back down that thing, but they didnt have another loop with them..... what does he do? Pulls a pullup cord from his pocket and makes his own..... in the dark at the top of this HUGE A.... I tell you what, we had good laughs listening to him tell the story over many beers..... I just got my tickets for the Foo Fighters tix and i got me thinking..... Foo Fighters rank right up there in my favorite concerts list.... What are some of the best concerts you have been to. Here are some of my top 5..... 1. Metallica's "Damaged justice" tour, and (I have never missed a metallica tour since the master of puppets tour untill last year.... ) 2. Metallica's "An Evening With Metallica" (black album) tour 3. My first concert, it was an outdoor show with Mama's boys, Accept, Ratt, and Iron Maiden 4. OK, I just had to stop reading this thread. I am laughing SO hard that my stomach hurts..... Now..... veter, If you decide to stick with this sport you will see what everyone is talking about (thats if you have brains enough to kick that "LIKE I ALWAYS DO" attitude to the curb. Shit, I cant count how many times i have thought i had opened my slider in the landing area, and while packing i see that i didnt. Same goes for setting the breaks. I dont know you, but before I started skydiving I was a "LIKE I ALWAYS DO...." kind of person. Skydiving (and a few ER visits because i did things that i had been advised not to do with so little experience...) has opened my eyes, ears, and mind to what people say to, or try and teach me..... If you really think the tampering is for real, You need to find another DZ..... You have more important things to think about (keeping yourself alive) while jumping. The reason I climbed back into that plane for my 2nd, 3rd, hell..... all (well.... most anyway) of them was because I have the time of my life when i step out that door. I was have more fun than I had imagined I could ever have..... I cant see myself having fun out there thinking someone was messin with my stuff. Have fun or just stop now..... In a sport like ours, I cant see it happening..... Most of us a made the decision that the risk of skydiving is worth the bennifit..... There is nothing we can do to make our sport totally safe, and thats ok with me. I know that if I screw up bad enough, I WILL DIE..... Now I'm not saying that we shouldnt do our best to be safe, but when we are playing with gravity and terra firma we have to accept that some of us will not be around next year. no one ever said this was a "safe" sport.....
