Slider keepers that are sewn to the container sketch me out. The bungee and skytie when put around the reserve can still pull of the pin protector flap if they entangle with the main. If you need to sew bungee and plastic ball or skytie to your container, at least put a breakable tether in between it and the container. p.s. someone at our DZ had a break line catch around the plastic ball that caused a cutaway.

Started putting the masai on its back and head. Really well behaved. Would recommend. I should take it of some granite these next few days. I will report back.

dive arrests - swing yourself out from under your parachute as hard as you can. Immediately get yourself back under your wing. Train until this response is second nature. Learn to do this without stalling your wing and without adding so much input that you swing out the other side. ONLY do this up high with enough room to cutaway. You should consider doing high pulls. Don't do this shit with other canopies around.

The Scorpion leaves the Colugo in the dust. My buddy and I are evenly matched when flying Colugos. Wearing my Scorpion and him flying a Colugo, there is no competition. While the Colugo is no match speed wise for the Scorpion, there are many positive things to be said about the Colugo.

I hate having to point this out as it is the same distraction. p.s. the guy has a 100 base jumps, some of which have taken place in PNW, on top of his 300 skydives. The guy also speed flies. He knows how to fly wings. -

Not aggressive, then idiotically aggressive First 50 jumps was a mix of 260s to 210s #50-400 Sabre2 190 WL 1 (1 canopy course) #400-800 Storm 150 WL 1.3 (1 canopy course) #800-850 Storm 120 WL 1.6 #850-900 Katana 107 WL 1.8 #900-950 Velo 96 WL 2 #950-1050 Velo 90 WL 2.1 (1 canopy course) about to downsize to velo 84 WL 2.3 *250 jumps on a Fox 266 WL 0.7 p.s. I learned 270s on my Storm 150. I have been accelerating my landings since jump #100. -
Does it feel "heavy" on the arms? Is it agile? Does it flare well?

Max tracking and angle flying are different for the most part. Angle flying at least at my DZ is almost head down. At best you are flying at a 45 degree pitch. Generally speaking for all forms of skydiving with forward movement In a belly to earth orientation, de-arching moves you up and arching moves you down, the inverse is true for flying on your back. Introducing drag slows you down, removing drag speeds you up on that trajectory. Sweeping your arms back changes your pitch (angle)...the attached tracking suit fly-by video demonstrates this. If your goal is to out track ledges at some point, then watch base footage of good trackers (with or without tracksuits). I used to practice by looking in the mirror (front and side profile). Try to approximate the body position as best as you can on the ground. Do a body check - from head to toe, check part by part of your body and pay attention to what it feels like for the body parts to be in the right spot (again - use the mirror as a guide and videos as the "ideal to approximate"). Do those body checks in the air. I check shoulders, core, butt. A good max track is exhausting as hell. Angle flying is a hybrid state between tracking and head down. Here at my DZ people gradually start adding angles to their free flying after they have become proficient on their head. The body positions for angle flying, both belly and back, are the same body positions that are used for head down out-face and in-face carving respectively. Since the majority of people at my DZ learn free flying through the tunnel, this is usually the route by which people start. It has back fly vents and stays pressurized throughout the transition. Easy to backfly. Less stable on the yaw axis than say a PTS. It tends more towards over steer. Gets a little twitchy when flying crumpled up and steep (think belly angle fly position with knees bend and very steep).

The masai is awesome. One of the funnest and fastest "tracksuits" that I have yet flown. It is intuitive to fly though not as stable as the traditional tracksuits. In the past I have flown a tube3, Sumo, PTS and original PF. This suit is the future of tracking suits imo. The celled design allows for the same surface area of a high volume tracksuit while eliminating the drag of the top to bottom inflation. If you are looking for your first tracksuit, I'd recommend to look somewhere else, especially if you are buying one for base jumping. If you however want a suit that can race P2s, angle fly/FF, proxy track or fly to the main landing area in Brento this may be it.
