    DONATE BLOOD!

36 blood donations so far, marrow donor card, organ donor card. Good thing (I think not only here) is your blood donor card is also an "accident and emergency aid pass" - means, it provides information about your blood group (and subgroups) and an emergency contact address. Brand name

Nice Reminds me of my daughter coming home from Oz sporting a t-shirt with "Too busy to FCUK" on her chest. I laughed about the mother who complained that her 5-year-old might pick up "bad language" asking what "nuckin' futs" should mean. As if most of the little buggers haven't already picked up a shitload of swearwords by this age The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  3. Whatever you chose, it's your decision, this is a free country
  4. OCD as in "Organizing for Community Development" so yes, if you give the "old" bands away to skydiving buddies you sure will help develop the community And yea, sounds like obsessive-compulsive disorder. Have never seen anyone do this. If they don't tear apart when you pack, they are OK. If in doubt, pull 'em a little before you stow the lines with them; if they don't tear apart, they are OK. Shouldn't do any harm to your lines if you treat them with new rubber bands only, though. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  5. Voted potato salad. Just learned reading Wikipedia that American "potato salad" and German "Kartoffelsalat" aren't that much different (at least some styles). There are lots of varieties in Germany, though. If you like, I'll translate this one into English, it's "Thüringer Kartoffelsalat" (Thuringian style potato salad) Kartoffelsalat is thought to be a "natural" side dish to Thüringer Rostbratwurst (Thuringian bratwurst grilled on a charcoal barbie) YUMM! The typical meal for a picnic here! The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  6. If you plan on buying a CYPRES, you shouldn't disregard it because of a 6-week waiting period at the moment. 4 years until the first inspection of your still-to-buy CYPRES is quite a long time But even if the waiting period would remain that long you can send in your CYPRES at a time that accommodates your needs - there's a +/- 6-months "shifting" period possible. (OK, if you live in a region with all-year-jumping, you got to look for a unit to hire during that time... As far as I understand Airtec got a rush of orders both from the military and the civilian sector. This might have to do with issues of competing products. I wonder if, let's say... a Belgian company could deal better with this fact. And I also dimly remember that customers of competing products complained about "their" company's lack of communication about the issue in the past... But I'd be interested in what they will write you. They won't be able to tell you more than "We've got looooaaads of customers, so we work as hard as we can and even hired new staff, we'll do our very best and take 4/ years as priority and hope do work down the huge pile of orders within the shortest time possible, sorry for any inconveniences" Just my tip... 9. Homesick bowlingball tandem, muhahahaha... I like this term. We often call them Kugelbomber 13 kg, wow. Must suck you down, literally. I sometimes thought about buying a new belt (mine is only capable of housing five 1kg-packs) that allows for 7 kg, but up to 10 might be an idea. But hey, I'm doing tandems now, har har. And all of a sudden I like bowlingball tandems... if winds are 10+ knots The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  10. Thanks a lot. BTW: Bring a whole new meaning to the term V-skydiver, huh? (ducking and running away, John might be hanging around in this forum... ) The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Did you notice the hidden message in the video title? Muhahahahahaha... FIST DATE... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  12. Well in your special case I can understand it sucks. The only workaround is to rent a CYPRES for this time, indeed. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  13. I can understand when girls here have a "girls only" jump. One of the reasons: NO weights! - They tell you with a broad smile I usually took 5 kg (11 lbs) when I did tandem video with ...erm... students whose belly circumference was ... interesting. So I know what it feels like to be loaded with lead and the first thing back in the hangar was to get rid of the lead belt... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  14. If I might guide you back to my OP: I wrote about FAT folks, folks with a swollen belly. I called them "belly flyers in a literal sense". I mean folks with a belly circumference 100cm+ or BMI way beyond 25. I am perfectly comfortable with folks who weigh 100 kg at a height of 2 metres, coz they are well-built and their weight comes from muscles mainly rather than belly fat. The aforementioned sturdy guys are capable of both "fast" and "slow" bellyflying. HTH The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

  16. So did I, hence the remark about the fan's power BTW: I have a video with two cockroaches using a hand dryer as a wind tunnel, was a commercial for an energy drink, but can't find it online anymore... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  17. Wowwowwow... the campaigners managed to bring the focus back to books, you're trying to bring it back again to TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX!!!!!!!!!!eleven. Apart from that, what's wrong with paying someone a decent salary for a demanding job? What's wrong with wages that allow people to actually live from them? I'm glad I live in Germany. 18. 4/8 year checks are high priority. But even a 4-week or 6-week waiting time can easily be dealt with: Send your CYPRES in for inspection OFF-season. (You can even take advantage of the "time window" of 6 months + or - since it doesn't harm the overall service time of your CYPRES. That's at least the way I do it Airtec seems to have quite a workload at the moment, but OTOH this shows there's high demand for their product The sky is not the limit. The ground is. 19. Twardo you're neither old (you're just getting better!) nor are you fat. Having two or even three jumpsuits is something that really helps, especially when one is "gravitationally challenged" Not that I consider you are but your approach is something I like. I also have several jumpsuits and even a lead belt around, just in case. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  20. Well, Wendy is - at least according to what I found - right. We have two parachuting clubs in my town. My club is centred on RW, most skydivers are either younger or the older farts are still in good shape. So, bellyflying is usually at a speed of ~180 km/h. I also jumped with folks from the neighbouring club. Their alpha males are all belly jumpers in a literal sense. Which led to the fact that even the few lighter folks (girls, younger males) fall at quite a speed, usually ~190 km/h. (Both speeds SAS = Skydiver's AirSpeed, broken down to 4000 ft, have a look, at L&Bs website...) I find it quite interesting that the heavy folks (usually older males) never ever even consider to slim or something but constantly demand that folks with normal weight just "have to arch harder, it ain't that difficult!" Don't take that personally, I'm just venting The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

  22. The German website community mySkydive.de provides the feature to show how you are connected/linked to another user. As long as you have a couple of buddies and one of them likes online-befriending you are quite often given a "link line" And yeah, it's usually 3 or 4 hops only. I wonder if this feature could also be implemented here? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  23. No he didn't. Read this on his website: "In 2010, Matt started traveling again. He had to take a prolonged pit stop the following year when he and Melissa had a son. After that, leaving home for long stretches got even harder. But he hired a small team to help him finish and they eventually got it done." And: Really nice video. The sky is not the limit. I liked watching ARF when I was in Oz (7 times up to now). Sport for really tough guys, huh? No armour (as with American Footy) just a mouth guard and protection for the family jewels... Due to my friends living in Carnavon I liked the West Coast Eagles but also supported the Fremantle Dockers :-) I found the rules not that difficult to understand and watched several games in Carnarvon. I like this one. But careful with Asian ladies The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
  25. Muhahaha... From a safe distance, this story is just hilarious. I'm pretty sure Andy Kaufman would have loved this story. On second view however... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
