Women Face Their Fears By Skydiving in Their Underwear
Abedy replied to DiverMike's topic in The Bonfire
"This video is not available in your location" OTOH, I bought the D-FREE skydiving girls calendar on Friday, so... Very nice pics. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks -
Visited Airtec at the annual safety conference of DFV (German Parachute Ass.) in Schweinfurt, Bavaria. (Any Americans folks happened to be stationed there?) Anyway, Airtec staff demonstrated a ripcord cable is easily cut by a CYPRES cutter, see video Unfortunately I didn't notice that my cell phone went into "keys locked" modus so when they showed that an untightened loop (actually hanging loose from the cutter) is also cut through cleanly the dammit phone failed to be quick enough to get it. Will have to wait until next year and then post it We could also see the STRATOS CYPRES. Got some nice pull-up bands, they are really good and last for a hundreds of pack jobs The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

It's not skydiving but artful paragliding. Yeah, the dark side of the force, huh huh... But really fun and nice, though. And one of the few vids that doesn't get blocked here on behalf of royalty-enforcing German GEMA. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

And in Victorian England there were psychiatrists who gave massages to relieve "female hysteria" D'oh! I looked it up, it was a gynaecologist, bummer. Look here. I wonder if the movie is banned in Pilgrimsland? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

For young folks the decision is up to them, indeed. As I said before, it's "only" recommended to the abovementioned risk groups in Germany and AFAIK in the US, too. One thing only: There's no difference between "natural" and "artificial" immunity The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Wow, I haven't considered that before as flu shots (and most other vaccinations*) are completely covered by both compulsory and private health insurance here in Germany. *Vaccinations recommended by the standing committee on immunisation (StIKo) are free of charge - so in a nutshell that's all vaccinations for children up to 18, vaccinations for risk groups and booster vaccinations for tetanus etc. Sometimes an organized health system has its advantages, huh? Yupp. My bad. I tried to make a point about the company producing the equipment. If you don't have your car maintained within due time you usually lose your right to warranty claims. This could be seen as "Mom, they use their power to make me spend money fo' nuttin' but a ridiculous check!!!!" The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Wow she charges 60 bucks an hour. If a male - in a crammed underground train - can't help but cuddle with a female he gets charged with sexual harassment! More serious: Can't understand why people call her a prossie. Wait... if these folks are Puritans, well then... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Individual observations vs large group findings. Reasons might be: Protection builds up within about 14 days. Means there are 2 ways you may catch the flu even if you got the shot: Get infected while you're not yet fully protected or get infected with a strain that the vaccine doesn't protect from. Or one catches a bad cold and takes it for the flu... Some more interesting stuff added The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Almost correct... - but it's the WHO together with national institutions like the German Robert Koch Institut that recommend what strains to focus on. Pharmaceutical companies produce the vaccine based on these recommendations with the national institutes recommendation in mind for the "national" vaccine. Turns out that the vaccine in Germany protects from the same strains as the Swiss or the American does. - the vaccine protects from the 3 strains that are expected to have the highest impact. Numbers show that folks who are vaccinated are in general protected from the flu at a very high rate/likelihood. Episodial observations - due to the nature of statistics - might indicate other findings but you ought to see the big picture. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

It may not be an error code as such, but a cypres2 DOES show messages about the maintenance window. I let mine get to "NOW" lol it is at airtec right now And that's a jolly good feature, innit? No for the public audience... Just the same with my SKODA (belongs to VW group) - indicates: Maint due DD MMM or in XXX km and if the due date is reached it just reads "Maint NOW" but doesn't refuse to work. My CYPRES however does not have a "variable maintenance period" as my car has which allows for much more effective planning I wonder nobody complains about the necessity of maintenance inspections for cars. Overly regulated!!!! Abuse of power!!!! INCONVINIENCE!!!! Got to pay for rental car!!!! Costs!!!!!!eleven The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

You could: - if the DZ allows jumping without one - if you don't care about it getting serviced If I was in this situation I'd rather send the Cypres to Airtec to have it inspected as soon as possible The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

That's a jolly neat and well-working scheme! The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Getting a flu shot is quite a good idea for a number of people. Being an asthmatic I get my shot every year and noticed no side effects apart from a lightly sore delta muscle in my right shoulder. Other risk groups are people 60+ etc. Have a look here. This year's vaccine's mix is considerably different from that the years before, that might be a reason why flu vaccination is a little more advertised? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. And pretty nice the Google Glass (#15) is estimated to cost ~1500$ so we won't have any discussions whether tandem students should nor should not be allowed to wear them before the price goes down to a more middle-class range The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

I dunno why you chose the subject line as maintenance can be planned in advance within a 13-months window, provided you have a CYPRES2. If you have a CYPRES2 you can easily check after start-up when the next maintenance is due, just press the red button right after the countdown several times: first press = first number is number of jumps made so far, 2nd is serial number, 3rd shows when maint. is due. No it will not give you an error code. Neither will a CYPRES1. But as already mentioned it's illegal to jump with an AAD that is over its scheduled maint. period. All information to be found here or here if you still have one of the last C1's. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Interesting thoughts. January, for example, can be seen as a reference to: We are star dust. I do not mean this in a lyrical or religious way; astrophysics tell us we really are made of star dust. But this sounds rather dry, the pic shows it in an artful way. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

AFAIK the girls are actual jumpers. The pics were shot in Germany. Their plane's tail number is D-FREE, hence the name of the calendar. The calendar is available in the US (via PD), too: Have a look here for more details at http://www.pullout.de/parachute_girls.html And yes, they are cute

First thought: How sick. Second thought: Well, death belongs to life. You know. And life has so many facets... Will forward the link to a colleague of mine who teaches ethics to students at a medical vocational college. Should be a good starter for a discussion. BTW: The Parachute Girls Calender 2013 (clicky for a UTube "making of" video with some nice scenes ) was also made by a company the project manager of which is a Polish lady. Seems they are quite liberal, huh huh. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

D'oh! I get this message only: Video was removed by user - is it only me here in Germany or was it really removed? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Heh heh. Anyone ever told you that having kids doesn't necessarily requires getting married? But heck, to be serious, Our kids (aged 29 and 30) also don't make us hope for grandchildren in the near future... We had them when we were 22 / 23, but the times they are a-changing, having kids wasn't a big problem back in those days neither in respect to your job nor to your financial situation. I can understand them youngsters, but still... And, I'm also envious of Skymama coz both of our kids haven't indicated any interest in getting married as well. @Skymama: You both look gorgeous, have a nice time! The sky is not the limit. I have the impression he's rather pickish? But OTOH, you well might be right, 'coz Shah will be Shah... The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Most whuffos don't really understand what actually happens before, during and after a jump. Add "selective reception" and all the stereotypes they get from the media and you'll see the result. Some of my colleagues still refer to my broken humerus as "due to you bouncing". I tried to convey the basic idea of what a "premature opening" means but most folks simply don't listen not to tell about keep it in their mind I hope you are doing well?! The rolling barrel obviously wasn't your favourite playground attraction but all those older kids who played tricks on you or mastered the rolling barrel better aren't able to do a barrel roll in freefall, so you're now even with them. Well, Centauri women look nice apart from one disturbing facts: They ought to shave their heads (clicky just to imagine a bed-scene...) and males wear their hair in a pompous hairspray-infested crested way... Just to remind you. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks

Good one, this story was unbeknownst to me so thanks for the link. I like the "Shimicarus" story as it shows many folks really do use any occasion to say "Why did s/he... so s/he deserved it..." BTW: Namo had feathers at her arms by this time. Maybe they were pulled out by the wind when she started skydiving? The sky is not the limit. The ground is. The Society of Skydiving Ducks
