hey all, I have a 3 yr old emachine with a 17" monitor that is steadily getting darker, the brightness is already near max, is it dying or is there something that I can do to fix this problem? I have already de-gaused it. Once in a while when I turn it on its back to normal and looks great, the resolution of print and pictures is fine - just the darkness is the problem..... I can get another monitor for 100$ but I am cheeeaaapp----- thats a couple of jumps Thanks; Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

First of all, I added the link to Bundy to show that even our police can be fooled, And the doctors who treat the mentally unstable are also highly trained professionals......read the article, you may learn something, I dont think you understand that when someone takes lives, they are not in their right mind, and then can be called insane....... Taking a life in defense of yourself or a loved one is one thing, we are talking murder here ! Whether it offends you or not, my opinion is when you take a life INTENTIONALLY you forfeit your life. To respond to your question of drunk driving, I believe it should result in incarceration for punishment, as they probably do not need rehabilitation. Changing the cd.......same thing, NEGLIGENCE is no excuse, but there is no INTENT, so punishment (incarceration) would seem to be the order of the day. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... I turned out several on a lathe at work and gave them as presents, 3/16" stainless steel rod works good, not sure of the diameter of the ones you can buy though. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

I keep it in date ....... now......, It took a few years before I realized that it would be the pilots ass if something happened to me..... the oldest pack job I ever jumped was packed 3 years prior, The oldest pack I had to use was 9 months old. Unfortunately In this country we seem to be a minority......Too many bleeding hearts. Hell follow this link to ted bundy, this sick bastard took a lot of lives........when he was executed he had people on one side crying and praying for a stay of execution........and on the other side people were jubulant chanting, burn bundy burn. I agree about the parent child analogy, but are you saying that if the mental person kills again after rehabilitation then they would be subject to the death penalty or life in prison? And if they kill someone? Their guardian bears the responsibility, just as the parent of the two year old bears the responsibility for letting them get a loaded gun. ok, and when the hospital free's them in a couple of years, cause they are "rehabilitated" and they turn around and kill again...... that wont help the victim or their families will it? LOL, I can see what you are saying, but to answer your question...... at my duplex there are three in the living room, and at least one in each of the other rooms - bathroom included, all are loaded, and except for the 12 gage they are discretely hidden, they are easy to get ahold of. At the very least, I have options - I can run to another room to obtain a firearm and to delay the inevitable combat, or use what is close at hand, the Skelton family didnt have any, and were helpless victims..... I think I'm probably switched on enough to avoid that situation in the first place *** ok, in a public place I can accept that, but we were speaking of guns at home. If someone decides to enter your house and attack you then you probably cannot avoid the situation, if their are several attackers then your odds of walking away from the confrontation drop drastically. We had a very nice family in the Yakima Valley that was butchered by a mexican gang performing an initiation rite several years ago, they had no guns, just bats and knives - the family had no guns either.....they are dead - father, mother, two boys. The police were only thier for the aftermath... A gun or two in the hands of the homeowner may have kept them alive...... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

And yes I do believe if you keep yourself physically fit and train in self defence you can help protect yourself against an assailant. If you are armed and trained in thier use, then its less likely to be you! You failed to answer the question I posed to you ":Do you think your self defence classes are going to stop several large assailants armed with bats and high on meth? I do wonder if it is less humane though. *** I was involved in competition muzzle loading for over 20 years and hunted every year with muzzle loaders from 50 cal to my current 58 calibre, Its true that the velocity of the round is much lower than a modern firearm but the kinetic energy imparted by a large hunk of soft lead is more than sufficient to give you a one shot kill with little or no suffering of the animal.
