  1. Thinking back over the years, and the ratio of times you've crashed at my place versus me at your's...seems like an awful lot to zero! *** HAHA !!!! if the dz was by my house.... I am sure the ratio would swing the other way.... BTW..... you gonna be around this weekend? Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  2. How would it waste our money? I agree with you completely, but its the DZ's that will have to make and enforce the rules, and they will vary from dz to dz, - let the S&TA / owner make thier own intelligent decisions, not the uspa who have nothing beyond the "recommendations" I am certain the swoopers who killed themselves and others believed the same thing. Yet still a lot of people are dead. pure and simple.... he didnt locate the other person - he did not look... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  3. anyone is welcome to crash at my place, as long as they can stand sleeping with the man eating-ferocious killing machine.... Turbo.... aka 80lb pitbull who's most memorable and dangerous method of attack is kinda like a WWII mustard gas attack - he puts ALL the stink up the plane sorts to shame....even he will leave the room after dropping the bomb sometimes... If ya can handle that, come on over!!
  4. Hey some of you "No" voters, I respect your votes but how about some (more) comments on what your suggestion would be. *** I voted no for several reasons, 1)uspa has no way of enforcing this rule so it would be merely a waste of their time and 'our' money. 2) common sense cannot be legislated no matter how much we wish it could. 3)The DZ's that are now putting swoopers out on a different pass is a great idea or limiting the amount of turn allowed in the normal pattern - these are both things that I am in favor of - IF... the S&TA will enforce it with groundings if necessary . If ya wanna swoop, get the hell away from everyone else ! I swoop each and every landing that I can, I use a 270-360 degree turn if i am in the clear (ie) alone in the sky or can positively locate each other jumper, if am in traffic or cannot locate everyone I come in straight - I can swoop next time. I really hate when someones bad judgement hurts or kills someone else.... *EDIT to add - I have been to quite a few DZ's, one of the biggest failings that I have seen is the flagrant violators violations being ignored cause he is A) a regular B) an instructor C) a buddy of the S&TA / or dzo Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  5. I will continue to teach my students to THROW. *** I also see no benefit in changing from throwing to dropping.. and will continue to teach them to throw it. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  6. for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off. He's a tight-ass. He's a sadist. He's an absentee landlord.*** That has to be the best description of I have ever heard!! Can I get an amen brother Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  7. if you teach a student to immediately throw it, then the odds of them taking it out and hanging on to it for a second or two before letting it go are much less. I have one buddy years ago that had the bridal wrap his hand , it resulted in a reserve ride, he took it out and held it rather than tossing it. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  8. the exit order that most use is; bigger rw first small rw second big freefly third small freefly fourth high pullers/students/tandems out last Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  9. on my sony pc-5 the DV in/out has stopped working, on the sony website it shows 300$+ to diagnose and fix.... am I better off tossing in a bit more money to get a new (topmount) sony? or is this dinosaur still worth fixing? Is sony pretty quick to fix and return? or do they drag their feet a bit.. Thanks; Roy
  10. holy crap !! thats the best description of a boogie I have ever heard

  12. sheesh lady, your overworked in school, stressed out by a pre teen daughter.... ya moved too far away for anyone to just drop by to cheer ya up....ya wonder why you have lost ambition?.... havent heard from you two since we made the snowboarding plans -> is that still a go? if not lets still get together and do something silly gimme a call tomorrow night if you get a chance. see what happens when you move ten bazzillion miles away from yer bestest pal peace-love-and green jello
  13. This is what all of you gun loving second amendment nuts look like to all of us Hippie liberal tree huggers... cool ! thats exactly the image we were going for your funny Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  14. And...? Does that disturb you in your daily biz over there? *** actually what really desturbes me is the fact that the only people who are ever affected by these bans are the legal owners.... criminals dont care about the law... never have-never will, so the law does nothing but take one more 'right' away from law abiding citizens. Personally I am sick of the nanny mentality our government(s) promote in the name of "civilization" Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  15. first it was guns, then swords, the point is it will not stop here... welcome to overregulation, it seems to be the norm everywhere these days Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  16. samurai swords dont kill people.... people kill people what are we going to do make everyone register bats and kitchen knives. *** uh huh..... you laugh now..... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  17. Yup...dial 911 and die... *** 911...... government sponsored dial-a-prayer Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

  20. "Hey you don't mind if I fire up do ya, you know you might wantnna take uh couple of hit of this before you go out the door. It makes the trip down real interesting!" -Truman Sparks *** The tragedy of it all is that some of the peeps have no clue what your talking about and havent seen it yet
  21. isnt "love" a drug?? *** can be Highly addictive, exceedingly dangerous...... should be made illegal !!! Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  22. Nah...good, basic idea but if you are talking about actually doing some CRW, then it would be a pain-in-the-ass to get the proper equipment necessary to do it relatively safely. I would not recommend doing CRW with your micro-lined canopy and no hook knife among other things*** I would never recommend doing high performance CRW definately would recommend at least one hook knife

    Meese...

So, uh, what's the best Bullwinkle quote for this story? *** it slices... it dices....it juliannes...... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  24. It is because of this that I cannot consider another source for my audibles... *** Ditto
  25. Perhaps, swoopers could learn something from those old CRWDOGS! *** I agree completely, but would include all jumpers in this statement, CRW will teach more about canopy controll in a few jumps, about what your particular canopy is doing in a certain configuration (*brakes/rear risers/front risers) than can typically be learned in many non CRW jumps I would love it if the uspa would delete the night jump requirement and place a few simple CRW requirements on the D license. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
