I'm a stay at home mom and have been for 15 years now. At first glance it sounds offensive but I watched Mrs. Kerry on The View this week. (a benefit of being a stay at home Mom. ) I loved her... English is her second language and sometimes the way she says things do not come across the right way. Sometimes different words get lost in translation. What's important is that she admitted her mistake and owned up to it which many people have a hard time doing. It's nice to have someone who has her own opinions and isn't worried about being so damn PC all the time. AT any rate, she isn't running for President.

I love you too, Hans...

I might help you. There is a possibility I'm coming up this weekend if I can get the childcare worked out. I hate flying though Jraf was here this past weekend since he couldn't be here on my birthday. We had a great time! Let me tell you how sweet he is to me. He is soooooooo sweet.

Are you serious, Tonto? Maybe you did not do your converting properly but most average sized men would starve on 1200 calories a day. http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm Also, anytime someone uses a unit of measure are they supposed to post all equivalents for the entire world? I don't expect it of others and it's not that hard to google it and find out.

Sounds like you had a great time!! Good for you on taking time out for yourself. It looks like a beautiful place. I love fall as well and there is nothing more beautiful than the leaves changing. I haven't been to Indiana but have been to Indiana County in Pennsylvania..[;) Jraf and I were here http://www.smicksburg.com/ about a month ago ago and it was so beautiful and peaceful. I won't forget the little Amish boy of about 6 peeking out of his barn and waving at us. I so wish I had a picture of him.

Well, I am not hurting anyone...what are you doing to change things? Is your govt one of the ones you say is being pressured? Why not give up complaining about how horrible the USA is on dz.com and do something productive. Protest or write letters to your govt and our govt. Big changes have to start somewhere..even with the smallest voice. But then again maybe that is what you are trying to do here so I digress.. As far as the weight issue-- We all know it is true. What am I doing about it? Besides taking care of myself, I make sure that my children have plenty of activities such as athletics, etc. I cook healthy meals for them and McDonalds is a rare occurrence. I don't know about elsewhere but in my neighborhood the streets are filled with kids playing basketball or rollerblading.

Since You Brought Up Christmas...Christmas Letters
misskriss replied to Evelyn's topic in The Bonfire
ok...that is hysterical. I'm not a big fan of "look how great we are" letters at Xmas time. I do send a picture of the kiddies to family but I HATE those letters. They are often written in the third person which bugs the hell out of me. "Audrey spent the weekend scrapbooking with friends.." an actual quote from a xmas letter.. -
I had to memorize that poem for my English class in highschool. I still remember every word. Excellent poem.

I'll run an extra mile for you tomorrow..

Even if I'm voting for Kerry?

Now that is why I go to the gym everyday. I want to be healthy but I also want a beautiful ass.

Here's one to chew on in today's times... Wislava Szymborska... The End and the Beginning After every war someone has to tidy up. Things won't pick themselves up, after all. Someone has to shove the rubble to the roadsides so the carts loaded with corpses can get by. Someone has to trudge through sludge and ashes, through the sofa springs, the shards of glass, the bloody rags. Someone has to lug the post to prop the wall, someone has to glaze the window, set the door in its frame. No sound bites, no photo opportunities, and it takes years. All the cameras have gone to other wars. The bridges need to be rebuilt, the railroad stations, too. Shirtsleeves will be rolled to shreds. Someone, broom in hand, still remembers how it was. Someone else listens, nodding his unshattered head. But others are bound to be bustling nearby who'll find all that a little boring. From time to time someone still must dig up a rusted argument from underneath a bush and haul it off to the dump. Those who knew what this was all about must make way for those who know little. And less than that. And at last nothing less than nothing. Someone has to lie there in the grass that covers up the causes and effects with a cornstalk in his teeth, gawking at clouds.

You shouldn't. Sometimes one person might buy several of the little things and put them together in a basket or something.
-
Oh, I definitely agree with you. Someone had mentioned that they should read the book on this thread and I showed the summary to point out "Dr." Laura's insights into it all. Like I said... IMO, a load of crap.
-
I know you weren't attacking me. Dr. Laura said it, not me.. I think it's a load of crap personally.
-
Here's a brief summary of the book I'm sure this is wonderful for some women but Dr. Laura makes me cringe..
