nope, monogamy is strictly a cultural institution. if not for social pressures otherwise i think we would have long since revived the 'family marriage' concept. if 2 can form a life long bond that is mutually beneficial, why not 3, 6, 10? each individual brings something else to the relationship, anyone that thinks they can be everything for anyone is severely deluded (and probably being 'cheated' on) the problems occur with jealousy and honest, both of which are culturally ingrained, but can also be changed ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i skied a good bit when i was growing up, but as soon as i stood on a snow board it was like heaven.. i think the reason people find skiing at first is the balance is more like walking 2 arms 2 poles. Riding is a single point skill and somewhat counter intuitive, but kids can pick it up really easily with some intial coaching. there are 10 year olds that blow by me all the time...its rather humbling sometimes. also..IMO snowboarding (at a reasonable level) seems less injury prone, since you wont have four limbs trying to go four directions at once when you wipe out... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

do slow heel raises while your brushing your teeth, ironing, riding in elevators etc..any activity where you have to stand for a length of time.. BTW rental gear generally sucks!! so getting boots that fit well (and good bindings) will make it loads easier on your calves, once you get comfortable you'll move from your hips more than 'forcing' it with your calves..lots like skydiving, pick a line and flow with it... oh yeah have fun!!! not so patiently waiting for snow to accumulate on Mt. Baker..
