Situations/circumstances that really make you uncomfortable
Zenister replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
was changing it last night and got tired of screwing with it, to drunk to figure out the .psd file format was keeping my new one too big... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
ive always quibled with that particular ascpect. Perhaps not 'instant' however i believe the things you do now certainly affect your karmic balance and therefore your current life path.. the whole benifit or decline may not be realized until the next, but i think you can see the spiral turning inside a single lifespan... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

got a Hades album or two floating in the vinyal crates too.. Helstar is another band your probably familar with, along the same lines... but theres a Norweigan band called Sieges Even that really rocks...Life Cycle came out right around the same time as Watchtower and has the same kind of feel (but perhaps even more complex..) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

thats means you have the best track in your group, but what about other groups you didnt break off from?? or larger groups that broke off in sequence or 'lost' people before break off?? ideally you dont lose people, but it does happen on occasion ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I agree 100% with what you are saying. So long as those are guidelines, good words, wisdom to follow, and not "you must do this at this point and not before" rules to be enforced on everyone without regard to any number of factors that affect the rate at which an individual learns. no one is arguing against the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge. I am particularly against arbitrary requirements. Leave decisions about canopy progression to the people who are flying the canopies and the people they should be learning from. The only reason peer pressure wont/isnt working is if the peers and their instructors, coaches ST&As, concerned friends etc.. dont take a personal interest in any jumper they are worried about. the definition of 'fun' is also a very personal thing, do we now need regulation defining what is "to much" or "just enough" for each skydiver? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

DUDE how did you get copies of my record collection?!?! Watchtower: Control and Resistance i think you and i have the only two copies that sold...pm me about a demo with a much more live (better) mix Coroner: No More Color yea! an amazing album..Ron Royle is/was way under rated as a bassist.. These guy were simply to far ahead... Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes no one believes me when i tell them Tori Amos writes metal tunes... ...........holy shit...the more i read this thread the more we've got to have better control of the tunes at the next gathering, theres just too many albums listed here that i never hear anywhere unless i'm the one that put it in.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

pack yourself or getting packed
Zenister replied to feuergnom's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
interesting. is including the pack job as part of the rental price common in the UK? i'm also guessing you rent (hire) the rig by the jump? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

The same thing that made people start pulling higher when the Pull altitude BSR came out. its unlikely many people started pulling higher simply because a rule said they should. its more likely the majority of people decide where to pull based on canopy and dive type/size, AAD use etc as well as what they feel is safe for their own personal risks. The "rule" is probably pretty far done the list of motivating factors. Its still the same decisions they should make about canopy choice and landing styles. Good fundamentals and better recomendations for future advancement are good things. Mandatory regulations are not. those who still wanted to pull lower likely found 'safer' ways to do it consistantly ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i tried to explain to some of my 'hippy' friends that the war was pretty much the 'flavor of the month' for the media and as soon as the big fireworks were over we'd be back to your regularly scheduled opiate to keep the masses entertained.. exactly as we are now... doesnt take much before the sheep stop paying attention, I actually talked to one woman who was amazed we still have troops in Afganistan...i guess shes been watching reality tv since CNN stopped "breaking news coverage' ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Now I have to decide between Infinity and Wings
Zenister replied to badlock's topic in Gear and Rigging
So Badger someone about posting some of the less 'tame' examples...I'll post some pics of mine this weekend.. I hadnt even thought about the Xoas team rigs..i see them so often it blurs together... those arent exactly 'plain' either. of course you can see to land at night with Jeff B's rig on... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
Now I have to decide between Infinity and Wings
Zenister replied to badlock's topic in Gear and Rigging
hmmm maybe we can get Jeff to post a picture of his Infinity. Its far from 'plain'. As with any rig its as 'plain' or as 'wild' as you design it.. mine is pretty tame in comparison to Jeff's but i'd never call either 'plain' ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
Oh, that superstitions! Oh that myths!

pack yourself or getting packed
Zenister replied to feuergnom's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
exactly...and we've done this poll several times before too ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
However, Patton did not grow up with opera vocal training like Tate did. Tate has been chain smoking for the last 10 years, and his voice shows it.. Both Bruce Dickenson and Rob Halford slayed him when i saw them together in vegas...and they both have 15 years on him... Patton cant hold a candle to any of the 'trained' types, that was record company hype. listen to Worl Dane (Sanctuary & Nevermore) Ray Alder (Fates Warning) James LaRue (Dream Theater) John Arch (Fates Warning) John Olivia (Savatage) also anyone whos on the fence about DT needs to listen to TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA they are many of the same musicians.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
