not for TS..once it expires it has to be completely redone IIRC.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

wasnt me, was one of my soldiers.. good thing he didnt need any emergency care during Kosovo, they probably wouldnt have double checked... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

but if you were hired by a civilian agency much of the paper work for your TS-SCI has to be redone anyway and repaid for, the clearance is for you, but it belongs to the institution that paid for it, and there is a ton of paperwork to transfer it. Civilian contractors have different billets than military units... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

dog tag.. of course i know someone who spent 10 years in the army before going to the ER only to find out his medical records (and dogtags) were not only wrong, but fatally wrong if they'd given him what they thought he had... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Now I have to decide between Infinity and Wings
Zenister replied to badlock's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would actually expect my rigger and packer to already be reasonably familar with the major brands and if not put the time in to become so when they have a customer with equipment they are not familar with, if they didnt would be looking for another rigger/packer. So once i was pretty certain i was buying an Infinity I asked, both my rigger and packer at Eloy were familar with and recommended Infinity as a container, even though they are not very common there.. I agree completely Lisa I cant imagine anyone at Velocity Sports would leave you hanging if you have equipment issues over on the east coast. They put up with all sorts of silly questions and changes from me.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
no they are not. 'value' is a personal judgment, valuable for what? to whom? do you value the life of an unknown woman in aisa as much as you value your mother, sister, wife? who has the authority? anyone, everyone every moment makes decisions about who to help and who not to, who to save and who to let drown. Anyones right to live is sacred, until it becomes a choice between one life or another..then the true 'value' of those lives is exposed in sharp relief. an extreme example. a man has a gun pointed at your wife, you have a gun pointed at him. Do you shoot him (hypothetically we assume that he will shoot if you do not) ? right then you are deciding that the life of your wife is more valuable than the life of the man.. the 'value' of any particular life is relative to the observer and the circumstances. pun intended ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

its certainly not hard to get me to go track... although as dirty as you were flying just to come down to me in the GTI i imagine you in a boxman-wingsuit during a tracking dive... although i was only getting tracking dive fall rates then too... i little better now... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i DAMN sure do.. no shit, there i was (pretty damn lit) wandering back to my hotel when i was in Vegas...well this huge buick in front of me smakes the curb hard making a uturn and takes off a chunk of the curb which rolls right under my car...i missed it with the front tires, but it shreded the left rear...$#^*#@$$. Of course this is the trip i decided to drive my own car instead of taking the rental.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

alot more precise?!?! whatever, have you not seen alchemy video? AZ Freeflight? thats not 'precise'? so far its all very much opinion based, as is 'ascetic'. I'd be interested in some actual side by side comparison of the difference in styles of flight as opposed to "well i think this one looks cooler" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

wow! i have to say i love that look...somewhere i have a photo of myself and a gaggle of other longhairs at the 'it' family reunion..

a wise man, who has let go of the cultural dogma and adopted a holistic approach. I may quibble with his definitions words being far to limiting yet i cannot fault his faith or the passion with which he practices and the beauty of his thought. Not one; Not two: Christian Buddhists and if you havent already, read Yann Martel's Life of Pi without exception you'll be glad you did.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

yeah...didnt jump last weekend to save cash, but i should get 3-4 more in this week and then i'll be down to play some, since just spent $700 for a reserve depending on loads etc i'll be making mostly b-man jumps, but i know there is talk of some serious hybrid play and i'm all about that too so... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

\ nope. they are being decomissioned. The Army has no fixwinged attack assets any longer and very few collection birds... the F-22 will replace the A-10 which wasnt 'bang-wiz' enough for the modern Airforce.. it carries more total strike power, but doesnt have the turnaround or loiter time the A-10 does, and how long it takes to bring that cannon back around is REALLY important in a close air support role.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

nioce info! as a follow up to another question (and as a fledgling b-man) what specific muscle groups are you fatiguing? Have you talked to a physical trainer to see specifically what types of exercises may increase endurance for those parts? I was thinking based on some earlier responses that isometric (?) straining against an immovable object to create muscle tension and fatigue type exercises would be most benificial...i was trying to recreate some of the tensions i've felt so far flying the wingsuit, with a pully machine and a LOT of wieght..but with my poor 'in training B-man technique i'm probably not focusing on the right areas in the right manner.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

number 1 reason to seek god for yourself instead of leaning on the crutch of a 'shepard' to lead you astray of course he is, the security blanket is no good if it doesnt make you feel 'safe & warm'. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Esperanto? never work..without a cultural or scientific drive humans wont adapt to each other, they will just gather in groups they can speak to without effort...lazy bastards.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i doubt it. Rules dont make anyone do anything. The majority of people i've asked do things because they believe it to be best, not because the rule says they should..often the rules say they shouldnt and they still do anyway... cultural changes & peer pressure to comply are more influential than any written law.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

have to get a rigger to chime in with the maximum extraction force for main pins, then get a meter and check... i think you have to really be cranking down on a short loop to get it too tight.. and then the loop will probably break soon... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

same thing..also marketed under the name 'pack boy' how does using that put "way to much tension" on your closing pin? its simply easier to hold than a pull up cord, you can still put just as much tension on your closing pin with cord. i know quite a few packers that do use them, the main advatage with pull up cords is they are cheaper and therefor more disposable.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

define power tool? a crank device? or the 'pack boy' tool, which is simply easier to grab than a pull up cord? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Has anyone had the priviledge to get a ride on a Smart reserve??
Zenister replied to kitof1976's topic in Gear and Rigging
doesnt that FAR apply to the 'conduct' of any given skydive? ie you must have a reserve that is "an approved parachute worn for emergency use to be activated only upon failure of the main parachute" for that particular dive. having used the 'approved parachute' as a main before does not change its current use as a reserve. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
