    I wondered about this when I heard it some weeks ago... What she means is that because the canopy was flying in a "braked" configuration (due to the short brake lines...), she didn't have the normal speed to trade for lift on landing. Like flying your final approach in 1/2 brakes and then flaring. She wasn't getting the full flare out of the canopy. Steve "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon.     I've never done any illegal drugs. The primary reason is the "illegal" part. That alone has the potential to screw up my life beyond what is acceptable to me. I enjoy my life the way it is.     Started July 13, 1985 in Tuskeegee, Alabama. I could never have imagined the changes I've seen in our sport in that time. From jumping T-10 rounds to 69.5 square ft. ellipticals. The most encouraging thing is that I'm jumping more now than I ever have in my life. I like the trend...

    I have an inversion table in my house that I use almost every day. I have 2 slightly bulging disks (L4-L5,L5-S1) and it is heaven to stretch my spine out. When you first start using it it seems like you're going to blow blood vessels in your head, but after a few days you adapt and that feeling goes away. It is also a great way to work your abs if you do crunches hanging upside down. There are supposedly lots of other benefits, but I just use it for my back.     The stows that close the deployment bag are the critical ones. If the deployment bag is allowed to open before line stretch, the canopy may start inflating before line stretch and cause seriously hard openings.     As an aside... I was checking in at a DZ I'd never been to before. I noticed a sign that read No Hook Turns. After filling out all the paperwork, the manifest girl checked my license, repack card and logbook. I asked her what a "Hook Turn" was. She looked at my jump numbers and main that I had listed on the paperwork and said: "You know what a hookturn is..." Funny how it seems everyone has their own definition.
