He's almost right. You're obviously more than capable of applying critical thinking and logic, it's just that on some subjects you choose not to. Which is worse Thought this might help here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDHJ4ztnldQ&feature=related "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." I lost a stepson to an accidental drug overdose. "Acute Morphine Toxicity" was what the death certificate said. 4 months later, I was diagnosed with a cancer and I was told "we have no cure for this". (I participated in a clinical trial and things are good, thanks!) Since then my marriage has ended primarily because of all the stress these things bring into your life. I don't blame any of this on some god. If I did believe in a god, I think I'd have reason to be pissed off at him. As it stands, I know that it is just the way it is...I roll with it and get on with living. Tha phrase "God works in mysterious ways" is a cheap cop out. There isn't some god pulling the strings. That's ironic. The bronze age comment is appropriate, as the explanations offered do not account for the facts uncovered since then. Seriously, Jaybird, AIG is a complete crock of shit. You show great intellectual weakness, laziness and gullibility citing it. I thought you were smarter than that. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Which is why you sit confused and some do not. God created the universe and the laws of physics that govern it. Lovers of God do not get a special pass exempting them form the vicissitudes of life. God did promise however that He would never leave or forsake us. I don't feel confused in the least...and I bet you don't feel delusional. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

If I had an omnipotent imaginary friend who gave my son a fucked-up heart I'd be pissed!! You handled it a lot better than I would have(if I believed in all that religious crap) Glad it all worked out for the little guy. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Welcome back! Now behave yourself... This place is less entertaining without you. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Given that a "higher power" is simply an imagined being, he absolutely did it on his own. He just doesn't know it. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

the end of the world is coming - send money....

It's guys like this that keep me atheist..... Interesting. I've never considered the thoughts or actions of others (atheists or christians) to influence my belief on a deity. You were born an athiest, just like everyone. You'd still be one if it weren't for the thoughts and actions of others. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up." -
Every Atheist claims to know everything about religion, otherwise they would not be so certain there is no Deity of 'ANY' description. How else can you come to that conclusion? As an agnostic I am not entirely certain about anything and don't feel the need to be. You appear to feel the need to be certain. I believe the earth is spherical due to the images that have been shown to me, there are also a great number of other examples to suggest the earth is a sphere, in a solar system orbiting the sun. There are also as many unknown possibilities that can change all that. A fish in water seems larger than it is in air. And a different shape depending on the angle… What appears is not always tangible; a hologram is a good example of this. What we don’t know effects what we believe we know, infinitely. Quantum physics (along with other non mainstream subjects) will throw a spanner in the works of what most people consider 'normal thinking' or what we perceive as reality. Only a closed minded individual will eliminate the possibility of something unknown to exist... Atheists fall into that definition. So you think there is a chance that the earth might be flat. Got it. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

100000000% agree.

Welcome back!! Were the sights/sounds/smells familiar? Did it bring things right back? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

You're right. I'm wrong. I do, however, think the rules should also apply to you and everyone else here, though. Not just with banning restriction timeframes...but with the content of your post as well. Tell you what...I'm signing off as pajarito. See you if I get let back in. I hope you're not gone for too long. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Why do you care? Speaks to motive, your Honor. If you using different profiles was simply a matter of convenience, I wouldn't have a problem with it. If, however, you are using different profiles to usurp the rules of the forum then that's a different matter altogether. Without those rules this place would wind up being no better than rec.skydiving was years ago. So, did you break the rules and get banned, or was your banning unjust? YOU are going to play rules lawyer, after the number of personal attacks you've leveled in the various religion threads? Amazing. If you give examples it might help. If I'm due a banning, then I'll man up and accept it. If I'm suddenly silent then you can go ahead and assume that I've been banned and am respecting the decision of the mods. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

The rules of the forum obviously do not apply to you or your conduct here. Your obnoxious personally insulting posts are tollerated for some reason. It is not possible (I don't think) to have a reasonable conversation with some people here and actually discuss, in a mature manner, the real substance of topics. Like I said, I'm not hiding from anyone. This whole thing is close to being as big a "time suck" as facebook. If I get banned, so be it. If I get permanently banned, so be it. I will never create a new profile here again. I promise that. So, if you all want to get rid of me and my opposing views, delete me. I'm good with that. As I said before, Jay, I for one hope you don't get banned. I do think you should abide by the rules, though. If I am ever banned I would respect the decision. I know that I'm a guest in someone else's sandbox. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

You're using your old profile to get around a banning? I guess I missed that. I should probably pay more attention. Like I said. I'm not sneaking around. Neither would I if we met face to face. "I'm sure you're a nice guy" yourself. I didn't say you were "sneaking around"...I said that I missed the fact that you were banned from using your other profile. Do you feel that your banning was unjust? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." One is really enough. I joined this thing originally back in 04 (I think). Got really burned out on it and left. My original username was this one. On a whim, I decided to check this site out again several months ago. I've been using the name jaybird18c for years now in all my online identification. I didn't recall what I was before and just created a new one. If that gets me banned again...I'm cool with that. It's really not worth fighting over. Really... I for one hope you don't get banned again. I just wish that you'd stick with one or the other. If you use Jaybird 18c in all your online identification, wouldn't it make sense that you use it here too? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Two. I explained that a while back. Not trying to sneak around. The last post you made under your "Jaybird" profile made mention of cowards. I missed the explaination of why you have more than one profile. I just figured you didn't have the spine to own up to your posts, but that's not the case, is it? I'd love to meet you someday. The feeling is mutual then. I'm sure you're a great guy. So, why is it you feel that one profile is not enough? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

How many profiles do you have on here? "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up."

Not that you're seeking it, but citing the "answersingenisis" website destroys your credibility immediately with me. If you can't see bullshit like this for what it is you have no hope of being taken seriously. Same goes for you, jaybird(if you're still haunting this thread) "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." Wolf Grulkey, the best DZO I've ever met (though many are cut from the same cloth) Has about 25 jumps and none in several years. When asked about it, he usually explains, "If one owns a bar, one should not drink." What he gets is that skydiving is only part of what makes this sport so great. He loves the people who jump, he loves to fly, and being a DZO seems to work pretty well for him. He's gone deep into debt at times while while extending credit to his friends that otherwise wouldn't be able to jump... His business thrives, and his DZ is highly regarded for it's friendly, inclusive atmosphere. I've seen people buy a dropzone before they knew what it really meant to be a skydiver. They didn't understand the cameraderie required to have a well rounded DZ, and treated it only as a business...all about money. They lost much of the staff and alienated many jumpers in the process. The DZ survived, but it is now just a business. I guess there are lots of ways to skin a cat. "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." Great, that makes two of us. I wish others others saw the humor in it. Like I said, I applaud your confidence in publicly proclaiming your underlying bisexuality. +1 . No one cares Coreece. I used to try and make myself believe I wasn't gay. Then I quit lying to myself and others and started being who I was born to be. You'll figure it out. I wonder if I'll get an invitation to his coming out soiree... "Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings."
