How many people have insurance for jumps outside their own country?
skydiverek replied to Newbie's topic in Archive
No wonder Denmark can afford this considering that it is in the Guinness Book of Records as a country with the highest income tax - highest rate of personal income tax: 62.9%, basic rate of personal income tax starting at 43.7% (June 2003). -
Worth repeating. Yeah, what's what I asked about. Let's say I order two identical rigs. The only difference is that one comes with 26" ZP PC, and other with 33" F-111 PC. Whould the sizes of PC pouches be different???
-
Do container manufacturers size the PC pouches for different PCs (size, material: F111, ZP), or is it one-size-fits-all?

I know it is scheduled for Jan./Feb. of 2006 in Thailand. Five Hercules airplanes. Anyone has more info on details like location, exit altitude, break-off altitude, technicalities, etc.? I cannot imagine that - it is gonna be HUGE ! But I think is it totally doable - 357-way record was held for over 13 seconds (excluding time when one jumper close to the base got confused, dropped a grip, and then redocked... BTW, does it make it a 2-point 357-way ?). Plus, now there is no 3 second requirement (That also means there could be a record without a photo, if it happened "between" the film frames

Well... I don't know about it now

And you have only 1 jump, so what do you know . But on a serious side, I meant that with pull-out design, the PC-in-tow and horseshoe do not happen (in general, again). You said you would cutaway in both cases and pull your reserve, but that means that you would be firing a reserve into the mess in both cases (cutting way may or may not seperate risers or realease the main in PC-in-tow, not do it immidiately, etc.) What do you see as defecits of pull-out (I suspect what you may say, but let me hear first)?
-
You can easily sell them on ebay and get few hundred bucks.
-
To me it does not make any sense. How about the fact that, in general, horseshoe and pilotchute-in-tow malufunctions are eliminated. And these are the two mals that you cannot cut away from (likely scenario with horseshoe) prior to deploying the reserve.

Mine ?

Would this apply also to sport canopies?

Both Dacron and Microline can try fitting in #8 brass grommets OR #25 stainless steel grommets. BTW, #8 brass grommets are 2 mm wider when it comes to inside diameter (at least the ones PD is using), so maybe they are better for bulkier Dacron lines?
-
That, plus as it was pointed they stretch more, and also provide more friction for the slider grommets (as compared to Microline). Do you think that having thicker Dacron lines increases the chances of having tension knots or slider hang-ups (since the bunch of thicker lines will be trying to fit in the same size slider grommets, which are used with Microline)?

Only 20% more, right?

Bill showed some great footage during the PIA presentation i.e how Skyhook handles different malufunctions: slow mal, bag lock, total mal, normal spinning, spinning on your back (the tiny canopy was hooked-up backwards and spun rapidly before the cutaway, etc.). One clip showed a reserve being packed with six 180-degree twists in the lines, right under the freebag, and then being deployed with Skyhook. It really showes much more than the stills found on RWS website. The rest of presentation included Powerpoint slide show on Skyhook, pilotchute construction, as well as footage of test jumps showing why a meshless reserve PC is better than the one using mesh, and a footage proving that a reserve bridle will NOT pull the freebag in case of horseshoe malfunction. The presentation ended with some hilarious bloopers of skydiving students. There was probably more in the presentation, but I don't remember now... It would be so cool if Bill could put that whole CD that he had during the PIA on the RWS website (or at least the Skyhook portions)
