  1. Reserve is PD Optimum, which is known for slower (bit snivelly) openings and being more prone to line twists. Tons of videos on YouTube.
  2. When the canopy might have come out or inflated. You don't know when the loop was cut. Plus, when he rotated to a vertical position, the burble disapeared, and the pressure increased A LOT on his back. So, the AAD 'saw' even more rapid descent. .
  3. I've seen vigil fire on swoop, reserve started to inflate when guy was on aprox 30 ft. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lehGkRCFXY .
  4. 'Cypres 2' Multimode was set to Expert instead of Speed mode: https://www.facebook.com/1440427835970533/videos/1610833768929938/
  5. Also, check THIS from Mirage: https://www.facebook.com/pg/MirageContainers/photos/?tab=album&album_id=852032714885682 .
  6. ...forgot the VIDEO to the description above, lol. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU5gTuc4cSg
  7. ...you can hear it here, in this order: Second under canopy warning. Swoop Guide beeps. Third under canopy warning. Third freefall warning (siren) activated at the end (must have beeen going really fast down).
  8. Additional (many) beeps between second and third under-the-canopy warnings. Useful for swoopers to give them heads up that the third warning is coming closer and closer. It is like a 'corridor' of beeps. Find some on You Tube from the swooper's POV, and you will know what I am talking about :-). bDifficult to explain on paper :-).
  9. Quattro has 4 freefall alarms. Optima II has 3 freefall alarms. Quattro has a freefall "Track Guide". Optima II does not. Optima II has canopy "Swoop Guide". Quattro does not. Both have 3 canopy descent, and 3 in the plane, warnings. Optima II has its LCD/LED version (not water resistant). Quattro does not. Normal Optima II and Quattro are both water resistant. So, Optima II is better for swooping. Quattro is better for Big-Ways. You can also check Protrack II. .
  10. This issue with Argus blade was (also) that it was made from too soft material. The English report details it. It is linked few posts above by me.
  11. Things to avoid, in order not to repeat the history: mib.gov.pl/mediakomisje/archiwum/2009562RKPKBWLang.pdf and www.pia.com/TechnicalArgusDocuments/ARGUS%20Cutter%20Review.pdf and the attached files. .
  12. https://www.facebook.com/TheJumpShopLtd/videos/1234407213342139/ That should be a link to the video I saw. Hopefully it will work. Makes the Jav Odyssey look a bit more like a Wings (based on a very quick glimpse). THIS is best of both worlds (up and down): http://sws.aero/en/products/fire/main_container/protector_flap/ .
  13. I think such situation is worse with MARD, because the reserve freebag would be pulled right into the main canopy. on the other side, with the RSL, only the reserve PC is activated, and it may go up a slightly different way, and not directly INTO the main canopy. .
  14. Some photos here: http://www.dropzone.com/news/Gear/What_s_New_-_The_Latest_Gear_at_PIA_2017_1280.html

  17. How many of them were PD Optimums? .
  18. Eric - and what do you think about the Mirage TRAP? https://vimeo.com/111064516 .
  19. In case of PD Optimum it does... Please ask if it was a PD Optimum. Thanks.
  20. What was the brand of the reserve? PD Optimum?
  21. That is all true, with the addition that if you choose NOT to send the Cypres for this optional check, you will loose the warranty.
