  1. What was the WL for the canopies?
  2. Whenever you are far away from others. Can be a high hop and pop or a high pull after some freefall. Can be an own line after everyone else has jumped. Talk to your Chief instructor what would work best on your DZ
  3. Yes, I've heard of those. In context of this topic I was however thinking more of misfires which happened e.g. during normal landing in conditions nowhere near firing.
  4. Are there any documented non-user errors / device errors? From what I have seen and read all "misfires" where under small canopies doing a high performance landing while approaching fire speed.
  5. If you add new features, you add complexity to the system. And complexity may result in device not working properly. I personally would rather my cypres activates every now and then when i don't need it than it fails on the one jump I need it. I'm guessing that's also the opinion of cypres dudes.
  6. Which I assume must be of the same model / type?
  7. The current version of Cypres Speed has the launching speed of 102 mph (46 m/s). I guess that's still pretty 'safe' for vast majority of both competition and non-competition swoopers.
  8. Is the competitor allowed to change the suits? Seems like Espen has been rocking both speed and distance in Jedei 2.
  9. As I suggested, I can point you in the direction of a few world champs I know who'll be happy to coach you. Doesn't have to be me by any means Ian Now that it's vacant, I'll be happy to take Charlie's slot

  12. Not an iPhone, but I tested with Samsungs GPS several times. Like written above, not good idea.
  13. Good post. My opinion is that Swift is a better choice if you plan to focus more on flocking than acro, as it provides this little extra range that can help you get back on the level with others when needed. And then if you're more into acro than flocking take a Hatch And then if you're good, it doesn't matter anymore...
  14. Sorry, but I could not disagree more :) Swift is an awesome suit, which you can keep forever and still will be able to find something new. As for comparison. As everybody said already the quality in both companies is pretty much the same. With PF Phantoms I've seen few people having problems with the zippers - they broke. I also have had problems that I couldn't unzip the arm wings which even after sending to PF factory to fix was not working. But maybe it's now fixed with Phantom Edge. I have flown Phantom 2 and Havoc Carve from PF, and then Swift, Funk and Aura from Squirrel. This of course comes down to personal preference, but for some reason from the time I put on my suit till the time I get it off, Squirrel suits make me smile and happy. They are much more fun and 'effortless' to fly.
  15. pfff, that's easy. I'd suggest you a Comp Velo 84. Or maybe better the same size Valkyrie as the openings are better, so you'll feel safer under WS.
  16. Not if you really know how to fly them. I know many people that have several hundred WS jumps and keep on jumping suits in Phantom class and don't need anything bigger.
  17. I'd get the Swift. From what I understood Hatch is made for first flights (not only, but mainly). With Swift you'll have broader range which can help when you fly together with Funks or Havocs. And it's not that big that you wouldn't be able to fly it after a longer break.
  18. the (rest in peace) part doesn't sound very convincing :)
  19. Anybody dare to change the slider and take it to base environment? Any guesses how it would perform? Just wondering...
  20. I meant the procedure, not the picture once they're stowed
  21. Does anybody have some pictures how brakes are stowed?
