  1. I didn't ready the whole article but it seems to me a bit like "avoid the problem in order to solve it". I'm exaggerating but I think it's nothing wrong with jumping a high(er) WL when you know what your're doing. I think accidents happen when people jump WL above 1.4 too fast i.e. before really mastering a bigger canopy.
  2. Quite interesting. But what is the difference between this and using both fronts? Also is there a difference which front and which toggle you use?
  3. 1. I've never said such thing 2. Even if I did, how whould that be a shittalk? Again, never said that. And exactly because I had some experince which is totally irrelevant in the thousands of orders I asked you to PM me if you want the details. As I wrote in my post, i'm not bashing/defending anyone. It was not directed at any manufacturer, as all make great products. I have flown PF for 2 years and I have nothing bad to say about their wingsuits. Only the opposite. They are top quality and fly super well! I have flown Squirrel and my feelings are the same I may have used wrong words, sorry. The point was that if you wait for a wingsuit for a few months, and then it comes not as you like, and you have to wait another few weeks to have it repaired (that inludes shipping) it can be quite big of a deal.
  4. If you want the info from my perspective, PM me, I'll be happy to share my experience. If you want to start some forum shit talk, sorry, not interested...
  5. I think the issue is not if a suit has been repaired or not. But if you have a choice of getting a well-fit suit at the first time or getting a suit too long/short and having it redone. Not bashing/defending anyone here. Just saying.
  6. Agree, still it's technically touching a riser :) I always thought it does, but I'll have to dig more into that, then. Yes, but in some cases it's better to land in a turbulent area than on a tree/building Totally agree.
  7. So people started dying/ getting hurt under canopy only after starting to use fronts/rears?
  8. So people started dying/ getting hurt under canopy only after starting to use fronts/rears?
  9. I think it's the same as with downsizing or after a winter break. You just don't start with your best swoop and just take it easy.
  10. Although I own a Swift I have not jumped it yet. I also have an Aura which I've flown quite much during last season, and must say that one thing that is really cool is that pull is super easy. Seems like Swift has the same construction of the upper wing and I'd guess that the pull would also be super easy.

    The masai

Have you base jumped it yet, or just skydived? I'm wondering how the cell design affects the inflation?
  12. Yet you still managed to fail in all three of those aspects in one jump...
  13. Quite a lot, but you don't seem to get the irony/jokes... Anyway, I don't know why you get so upset when people tell you that you may not have the required experience?? Maybe just listen to them and train more on a smaller suit? You admitted yourself that you have made a noob mistake. But when people agreed with you and pointed few more small mistakes, you got upset again. I, myself actually would be happy if I found out what I did wrong, and others agreed, because it means I can think properly. But that's just me. Don't really get you current attitude, and the point of posting a video when you can't handle what people have to say about it. Hopefully you have fun with Aura and whatever other stuff you plan on doing while skydiving. Cheers!
  14. I'm pretty sure you haven't mentioned the magic cord in your first post, you cheeky motherfucker! And I cannot post you a video, because I don't know myself how to use it 'cause as a SKYGOD I keep my legwing closed with my huge dick!
  15. I guess the idea behind that is the sama as when flaring the canopy. As you apply brakes, you swing forward and whole system (canopy + pilot) rotates a bit in the pitch axis. So basically when shifting the weight forward you "swing" and force the canopy to flare a bit. The opposite also works, when you want to make recovery arc longer, you try to shift backwards (or kind of "hide" in the harness) and force the canopy to dive a little more.
  16. You have a rubber cord inside your legwing which you can pull and it'll keep the legwing up until it's pressurized. I don't know what's your problem, but seems to me that people are trying to help you and analyze mistakes you made during the jump and you're acting like a little bitch who knows everything and can't take any constructive criticism. As I wrote in my post, I'm NOT criticizing you or saying that Aura was a bad choice for you. Just read and get some more info from more experienced jumpers.
  17. I must say, that I couldn't agree more. It is expected from any reasonable jumper to know certain things before upsizing. One of them is that during exit, relative wind will have much bigger impact on the bigger suit, and potentially cause the things you've experienced. So a smart thing to do on first jumps would be to try to do a perfect, arched, all wings closed exit. I'm not criticizing, but it seems to me that Aura was you first upsize, as you otherwise would be familiar with the stuff I just wrote. And I'm not saying that it's necessary a bad thing (although lot of people would disagree) but seems that you just haven't made enough research about bigger suits before jumping one.
  18. Am I missing something or isn't this rotation exactly what makes you rotated 90 to relative wind, as on the exit the relative wind is not from the earth but from the side?
  19. Apparently the term 'joke' doesn't translate very well to French

    Phoenix Fly

Do you even read what jpengel is writing?
  21. My guess would be they're less agile and with better glide ratio :)
  22. and where does normal V5 stand among the new suits?
  23. Is he contrasting color part of leading edge any different from the rest (like material or sth) or just a thing that Petras have to make it different from other canopies?
  24. So just out of curiosity, will Vampire be for pilots that want something super fast, then V Race for those that want something fast but with a bit better glide and then Venom 2/Power for those that want maximum glide with less speed?
  25. Will you continue with "normal" Vampires and Venoms in addition to Vampire Race and Venom Power? Or should those be treated as "V6" and "Venom 2" ?
