  1. From what I understood from Tesla video, it's not a super aggressive non-cross braced canopy but rather a intermediate one i.e. for learning to, or polishing your swoops (or maybe I understood wrong), which would still put it behind e.g. Katana or Mamba
  2. This sentence makes absolutely no sense. It's like saying given enough wind, you can get back from long spot flying backwards. And given enough altitude you can get back even on round parachute. But how does is apply to most real life situations?
  3. If you have to switch canopies to make your flare work, the problem is with technique, not the canopy.

    Swift 2

I have a funk2 which (I guess) has the same arm construction as C2 and can still reach toggles. It's a bit harder that e.g. Funk 1 or Aura but still doable.
  5. jtravis, I like the way you try to find the answers. pchapman's post was excellent - try to read it few times, maybe you'll find some more answers there. As for the quoted part - if the wind is the same throughout the turn (not likely in real life, but let's assume so, for now ) you will not be facing any change / difference in the wind after snapping out of the turn no matter which way you've turned (downwind or upwind). You are still in the same airmass which in relation to you is acting in the same way Imagine there's so ground below you - in this case you won't be able to notice if you're going up or down or crosswind. Imagine a swimming pool on a jetliner, which is flying at perfectly constant speed and direction. Is it harder to swim in one direction than in the other? If you dived head first to the water, would you hit the bottom easier if you jumped one way or the other? Answer to both is 'No' - it's the same with the wind - it's this huge constant airmass which is going in some direction.
  6. Even though it's weaker it still meets the requirements. But yea, technically it's weaker. About the opening - same thing here, it still opens fast enough (correct me if I'm wrong but i think it's 120m or 400 ft that a reserve has to open??). It is fast enough to open when your AAD fires. Imagine opening from terminal speed. You don't necessary want your reserve to be blasting fast. Otherwise why not pack it without slider??
  7. Yes, I've been packing like this for about 2 years now and absolutely no problems.
  8. If i understood correctly what you mean, try instead of rolling the tail, putting one side under the other and pulling "apart". You can see it here: (4m - 4m40s) https://youtu.be/TyEshNybpng?t=4m1s
  9. Hey I'm planning to buy a stowless bag and can't decide between these two. Does anybody have experience with both? Also which one of them is bulkier? I actually would like to have a but bigger bag so when I buy next canopy I don't have to change the container yet. EDIT: Also if somebody has experience with others (fully stowless) bags, I'd like to hear your opinion

  12. If I'm not mistaken, if you continue to turn while already applying riser input (planing out), in addition to being less safe, you lose quite much power and lift
  13. that's the exaclt collor pattern I have on my Aura. for now I have only this photo, but when i get back home i can make you few more (7th of january) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152738507508069&set=t.716708068&type=3&theater
  14. I have been flying my Squirrel suits (Swift, Funk and Aura) for 2 seasons and about 200 skydives. I haven't seen any abrasion from zippers (all flights were with the same container)
  15. Probably becasue you shoudn't be trying to put your feet up your ass, but your knees up. Try to feel where the tension comes when you try to lift your arm and lift this part of your body/suit. EDIT: and before you do that, punch with your arms forward.

    Vampire Sukhoi

Thanks for the clarification. I'd love to see this kind of summary of all suits on the site maybe combined with some kind of web chart or something showing e.g. speed / glide ratio / acro-friendliness of the whole suit range.

    Vampire Sukhoi

Reading the description I'm now very confused. "Setting the fastest time in competition during the 2015 China WWL, the Vampire SU is currently the fastest... " - isn't this what Arrow was supposed to be for? "For BASE jumping, the suit is designed for short starts, giving great glide" - isn't this what Venom was supposed to be for? I've had the impression (maybe wrong) that in a nutshell: Arrow - Super fast, less glide Venom - Super good glide, slower Vampire - Somewhere between. but more agile. But whenever a new suit comes, when reading the description one may think that it's best in everything. This may sound like trolling but I'm totally serious.

Anybody here has any info about the suit? How it is diferent from Race? Or how it compares to Venom? Description at the site doesn't really explain this and I think it's still VRace in the pictures... (?)
  19. I couldn't agree more. I mean Tony suits seem to be very good and of very good quality but I was always afraid to buy them as I didn't know what I would get. E.g. description for Rebel and Jedei is the same on the site, so it's up to you to guess the difference, but you may be up for a surprise as e.g. C2 and Freak on the pictures look almost the same, and they are quite different.
