  1. With FUNK you'll have greater range but you may have to do a bit more work to be on level with smaller suits. It also requires a bit more experience. I have flown both and loved them both, although they fly a bit differently (and I'm not talking about size only). Best would be to try them and then decide. With amount of Squirrel suits growing that shouldn't be a problem. But I would go with the Funk.
  2. Probably not dramatically, but won't shorter risers shorten the recovery arc?
  3. I think nothing sums this up better than your own quote :)
  4. A bit off-topic but not so much :) I was curious about jumping terminal jumps with full RDS (i.e. slider + dbag). I was asking around and even created a post on dz. I have not received any information that it would be not recommended and quite much people do that on daily basis. Based on my (so far limited) experience I can also say that full RDS works fine on terminal jumps. For me at least the biggest effort while packing canopy with RDS is the slider connection, not the removable dbag. So in my opinion there's no big difference if you use only removable slider or full RDS (in terms of additional effort while packing) End of off-topic...
  5. When you pull down the fronts (so you have the hands on chest level), do you observe a deflection of the tail of the canopy (caused by too short steering lines), or maybe a shaky behavior of the canopy?
  6. Any other wings (than VK) have them?
  7. so what do the inflatable stabilizers do?
  8. What does it bring to the table? EDIT: seems like NZ are not far behind http://vimeo.com/111820591
  9. Never had problems with unzipping the arm wing on the funk without the loops and don't see the difference with and without them while unzipping. (e.g. aura doesn't have them and unzipping works just fine) I did feel the difference though on Phantom2 because the wing is not that stiff and the zipper was pulling the wing instead of unzipping it when trying without the loop (or sometimes even with the loops) So for me it IS for the tension the wing during the flight.
  10. In my case I have it as loose as it gets, but i have to want to release it (by bending my thumb quite much). It's not that loose that it would accidentally slip off my thumb. So it is loose but it still works. And for the second question. It never happened and I seriously doubt it ever will (although I might be wrong). The reason for it is that when you want to grab the PC, your palm is between the loop and the hackey, and will not allow for the loop to even touch the hackey.
  11. When flying the funk, I have the thumb loop quite loose and "let it go" off my thumb before pitching. That way it's not in a way when reaching for risers / toggles.
  12. Nobody said it was before 2015 season
  13. maybe a bit off topic, but why make a 190 stiletto anyway? 190 sqft is pretty much a student/early jumper's size (talking about 99% of cases), so what's the point of making an elliptical this size? And can you really benefit / feel the real effect of elliptical canopy in that size?
  14. can't wait what's the name of next year's video will be... :)
  15. Buy an Aura. You can see in the video that it's a perfect acro suit: http://vimeo.com/107964945
  16. You thought of evolution before boobies. You are gay!
  17. Nice, very nice! Thanks for doing this. I ordered the flysight so hopefully i can test it soon.
  18. every good design will be copied one way or another. The same goes for elliptical design, cross braces etc. etc. This is what pushes the sport forward.
  19. Does the innie outtie system on PF suits bring much improvements? E.g. tony and squirrel suits are much looser in torso area so if you place the rig inside it'll inflate also. But since PF suits are tight in torso, I was wondering how much of a difference it makes?
  20. For few years of wingsuit skydiving I have taken the "proper" opening position maybe 5 times. I just don't see the point, as it is less stable than the full flight and creates a big burble. Also you lose the altitude and possible separation from other jumpers. Sometimes openings from full flight are a bit faster but not in the hard or uncomfortable way.
  21. Anyway, it's all about the longest grippers, that's what gets you the ladies!
  22. I think the site is missing photos of features of the suits. And some photos could be replaced with high resolution ones.
  23. But you definitely have a huge phone :)
  24. IMHO if the quality is pretty much the same, and there's no clear winner in terms of flying, lead times and customer service can be the decision maker.
  25. you could make your own by threading a (thin) climbing sling around the webbing point where the straps are sewn together. Just be creative :) A lot of people are doing this in BASE when repelling
