This might be a stupid suggestion, but if you want to see more of the sport and you've got a commercial rating, have you given any thought to becoming a part time jump pilot?

I dunno about anything to do in North Haven, but it's about an hour away from CPI whose website is www.skydivect.com. Alternately, you're about 2.5 hours away from Jumptown (my home dz) www.jumptown.com or the Ranch http://www.theblueskyranch.com/ I've jumped at CPI and Jumptown and they're both awesome. Haven't jumped at the Ranch but I hear fun things about them too.

Weekday Jumping: X-keys v The Ranch
robr replied to Mostly_Harmless's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Unfortunately, it's also a crappy place to live because of winter -
I had put something together like this at http://osinvestor.com/dzs/ Feel free to use any of the javascript if it's at all useful.

I read another article saying that the documents were given a quick once over by government translators to see if they contained anything sensitive. (the original article I read was from the Boston Globe but appears to be pay-per-view now; cnet has a summary article that mentions the 'cursory read' bit) I get the feeling that if they hadn't released the documents, that they would just sit in a warehouse untranslated, and in theory, if enough people are reading the documents, anything that's truly wrong in a translation will be pointed out by someone else. http://www.boston.com/business/globe/articles/2006/03/18/us_puts_iraqi_documents_on_the_web/ The above link might or might not work to get the original globe article. http://news.com.com/2061-10796_3-6051297.html This link has the summary from cnet.

The problem with hydrogen is that the vast majority of it is being generated from CH4 (natural gas) in a process called steam reforming. When Katrina hit last year a major portion of the hydrogen production in the US came to a standstill and put a world of hurting on the industry that depends on hydrogen. Just in the very recent past have there been smaller steam reformers that could be located at gas stations, etc. But even with these reformers, we still generate hydrogen from natural gas. So why aren't we using the natural gas immediately??? There's another article on Tech Review that, while not addressing the environmental aspects, does seem to address one economic hurdle to hydrogen-generation. The article describes GE's new less-expensive electrolyzer (tastes great, less filling) and is available at http://www.technologyreview.com/BizTech-R&D/wtr_16523,295,p1.html
