If I had to chose, I'd remove my slider rather than my d-bag. The above method is a colossal pain in the balls IMO (even though it'll work) and not worth the effort on the jump - I'd just wait till I could get a proper RDS system. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Grant, nothing on your body is long enough to 'whip'. It'd be the same as trying to 'whip' a toothpick through the air. I don't even think you'd hear the air displace.... Performance Designs Factory Team

That is the BEST thing you can do. Please, people, if you have any doubts just hit the deck. Running either way can put you in the path the pilot was using for avoidence. Grue, Squeak is correct though in that you shouldn't assume anything simply because of your size and colors - and don't forget, anyone can make a mistake. If you're going to stow your stuff in the field, please check around you often for anyone landing. The skydive isn't over until you're in the hanger. Blues, Ia Performance Designs Factory Team

Yep, the Dr recommended I keep it in too. He didn't see a problem with potential future injuries. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

I've seen Jeffro jump different linesets before. Can't remember if one of them was cascaded but I remember one of them had him hooking REALLY low with a very short recovery arc. Not sure if those are publically available. If memory serves me correctly Paul R also had a cascaded lineset on his XAOS 2 years ago. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Well, after a few years and a number of jumps on a velo 103, 96, 90 and 84, I can honestly say that this is my favorite x-braced wing on the market. Great for a beerline swooper with the right skills and spectacular as a competition canopy, it stands head and shoulders above the rest. Not only is the performance equal, or better, to anything on the market but it is backed by a company that has, in my opinion, some of the best service in the industry. After 4.5 years of flying Performance Designs products and the Velocity, I just couldn't recommend anything else to anyone. A great product, backed by a great company. PD has a great demo program if you're interested but unsure. Don't be afraid to call them as they will help guide you to the right canopy size, and type, for your goals. Blues.

Compared to 500 Vectran, yes (although I have the PD 300 HMA). I remember jumping Isaiah's 96 a while back with 500 HMA and I liked it more than the 500 Vectran. The plan is to get a 2nd velo this summer and get 500 HMA on that one so I can compare properly. If the difference is negligible I'll probably settle for the 500 HMA since I dont like 1) Worrying about blowing a line off on a terminal jump. 2) Having to replace my lines approx 200 jumps. Honestly, I'd guess a large part of the difference is 'making us feel better'. Nice read though. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

I guess my question stemmed from a 'what if I broke that leg again' scenario and the effects of having titanium in the leg. Granted in 10 years this is the only bone I've broken doing this and at that it was a fluke so I know it's rare. I just wonder what complications could arise in the above scenario. Of course I'll be asking the Dr on wednesday when I go in to have the staples removed. Oh, and btw, this thing is healing at an unbelievable rate. I'm blown away how much better each day is than the one before. I'm glad I chose this option (so far!) Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Ok, so I got my first set of bills. I have yet to receive the bills from the ER ride but the surgery stuff came in at 15000. Thank god for medical. Ok, so question for those of you with titanium rods. Did you keep them in? For those who had them removed, was the surgery to remove them as traumatic (same recovery times and pains, etc) as putting them in or were your recoveries faster? Just watched the clip on the net. Did Joao do that on a VX? The clips were edited together between a PD velocity and what appeared to be a go-fast VX. I'm confused. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

I saw that run. Crazy that it caused that much damage! I would never have guess anything was broken from the video. Beat up - sure - broken, no. Heal fast! Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

I've had 1 or 2 abnormally high readings. I attribute them to moving my head and, for lack of a better term, changing the burble around the device. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Hey Eddie, I can totally understand that frustration, and I think handing a packer a ball of shit is asking for more than a packjob. When I take my rig to a packer, I lay it out and leave everything neatly where they would need it. Just common courtesy. And, if I have time, I'll stow the breaks to help them out, BUT if they wont pack my gear simply because I haven't stowed my brakes, I simply won't use them
-
I'm with you on this one. If I pay for a packjob, I expect my brakes to be stowed, pilot chute to be cocked, etc. If I'm jumping with an RDS I'll pay them extra for that hassle though. Performance Designs Factory Team
