R.A.G.E. Demos at Perris Valley this weekend.
ianmdrennan replied to diablopilot's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Definately. I do hear more and more people asking about it so I think word is getting out there. Like all things it's just taking it's sweet ass time Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Great shots Murray!!! I know what TK would say to that Hope all is well. Stay safe. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Nah, that's the R.A.G.E. (made overseas somewhere). There are a couple of these (the Flight Concepts RAGE) at our DZ. I've heard the front riser pressure is insane (but I can't say cause I've never flown one). Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Dammit!!! I was gonna post that. Come to the Skydive Atlanta Halloween boogie Dave.....and bring your friends too! Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

The reason the skyhook is able to deploy a reserve so quickly is because it uses the main or reserve pilot chute, whichever has the most drag, to reploy the reserve. So...terminal is not an issue, if you're at terminal your main obviously hasn't worked in which case the reserve would be deployed, like normal, via the reserve pilot chute. If you have a malfunction where the main is out it will most likely use that for reserve deployment because of the greater drag. So at terminal the skyhook won't offer any increase in reserve deployment speed. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Sorry, but I got spoiled by WBRU (95.5) and WAAF (107.3) two of the best radio stations I've ever heard....of course you gotta be in the MA area to hear em Bout the only thing I miss from MA. Now 99X is the next best thing but the DZ's are horrible. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

I highly, highly, highly recommend against doing that. Dive loops allow the pilot to keep the toggle securely positioned over some fingers while using the others for the dive loop. This SIGNIFICANTLY lessens the chance of dropping a toggle as opposed to a dive block which requires the whole hand to be used. Case in point, I almost dropped a toggle this weekend for the first time, if I had not had the toggle secured by at least one finger the results would have been disasterous. We'll settle for the occasional visit too ya know !! Performance Designs Factory Team -
I hear ya, and that's why I responded to JP's post with a better comparision table. I think the Blade is a better performing canopy than the Stiletto, I was just saying it shares more traits with the Stiletto than the Katana. I definately wasn't trying to take away from what the Blade is capable of. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Homophobe Racist Replace "Race" with "Sexuality" in Racist and the similarities are striking. I guess I just don't see the difference on where some guy sticks his cock or woman sticks her tongue vs what color their skin is as a reflection on how "abnormal" he/she is considered to be. What they do has no impact on my life or the life of my family whatsoever so I don't really care what they do as long as it's consensual. It's just my opinion. Others are welcome to theirs whether or not I agree with them. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Does that go for homophobes too? Performance Designs Factory Team

Yep, it does dive more than a stiletto but I still think it's closer to that than a Katana. The Katana 107 flew pretty damn close to my velo and easily outdove the Blade 98 by a long way. My point wasn't that it's as much like as Stiletto as that its not anything like the Katana IMO. Blade 98: Spectacular openings Quick turns reasonable dive arc (longer than average but nothing unusual) Junk on the rears IMO Short line set reasonable front riser pressure Katana 107: Nice openings (mine were quick on the canopy I jumped though) Slower turns building up momentum and speed Incredibly long dive arc. Much more like a velocity than anything else I've jumped. Longer lines Unbelievably powerful on the rears (I think more so than my velo but it's hard to say) Front riser pressure...whats that?

And that is a great point, I think we're saying similar things just in a different manner.
-
Yep. This of course does not mean that you have the right to fly inconsiderately and screw everyone elses approach up. That's where the problem lies. I can't tell you how many people I've counted spiralling mindlessly in the pattern trying to get down first when there's no hope of them doing so. It shows a lack of understanding of what's going on around you. 9/10 people don't start flying their pattern from the time they open. The pattern isn't some set of lines you follow from 1000 ft (or whenever they "start"), instead it's finding your place in the traffic so that everyone has clear airspace on their approach. True, but if I buzzed by you in freefall doing something dangerous I bet you'd say something. Likewise you cannot ignore actions that endanger others under canopy because freefall is over. Absolutely no way. I've jumped both and the Katana is a very different animal to the blade. While they are both considered HP canopies the Blade is no where near the Katana. The Blade, IMO is much more like a stilletto with better lift at the end. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

ahhh thanks. I mistook his Palm Companion for actually being able to interface with the neptune/protrack, etc. Methinks a feature request is forthcoming

So come, everyone is welcome!!! I just spoke to Alti-2 and they will be coming along as well. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Ya know I thought that too till I jumped the Katana. If I ever needed a non xbraced canopy, without a doubt that'd be the one. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Keep this in the bonfire dude, no need to post it in 3 different forums. Wishing Joan a speedy recovery. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Email the writer of paralog. He downloads directly to his palm. He also uses it to get signatures for his dives which he then uploads to paralog later. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
