  3. The best one I ever had was when I put my rig (in a carry on suitcase) through the scanner. The person on the other side looks up and says - "Is this a parachute system?". "Yes" I say, to which they reply "Is there a cypres in this system?". "Yes" I reply. "Thanks have a good day" they say. That right there is testiment to the USPA and the TSA's education program (this was also outta Providence Rhode Island). Lately I've had ZERO problems traveling with a rig. Thanks all for making it possible. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  5. It's amusing that you haven't seen it, yet you're an expert on it's content. You could be right, I don't know, I haven't seen it. Yes, it's amusing for the reasons stated above. If you've seen 2 of his works, your opinion on those carries merit (you've seen it), on this it does not, you haven't seen it. He may have been cashing in on people suffering (of course you could argue that the RNC in New York was doing the same with 9/11 - who knows?) BUT I took away something thought provoking from BFC about the media. I didn't come away with an anti-gun sense at all. It's all perspective I suppose. Nonetheless I'm not about to discount someones entire work because they believe things I don't. Most times when entering with an open mind, some other things you never thought about are encountered. That was BFC for me. There was a lot I didn't agree with, but if I come away with ONE thing to think about that I hadn't considered before then it wasn't a waste of my time and money. 6. Probably the same as those still defending the WMD's standpoint. Don't let your hostility show through so much, it's not an appealing characteristic. Anyway, here's a fresh perspective...I believe no matter who wins the candidate will bring both good and bad to the country. Neither is ideal, but neither is totally useless either. In the end, I honestly wonder how much difference it'll really make who wins. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. Offtopic: I think people who think BFC was anti-gun missed the point, to me it was much more anti-media (and appropriately so). Nonetheless it's amusing to hear Juane comment on a movie he hasn't seen. I've not seen F911, dunno if I will, but I'm not about to sit here and tell you the content on the movie when all I have to go on is critics reviews, or people with a vested interest in either "side". Watch it, then comment on it, and do so with a clear mind, till then it's just useless rambling. Same goes for anyone slagging Fareinhype 911 - watch it, then talk about it (if it's even out yet?) 8. It's definately something I can talk to him about. The biggest problem I could see would be allocating a landing area for that so as to not interfere with other jumping activities (keeping it safe). If people are interested let me know, based on the response I get I'll see if we can do anything. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. Ya know. I'm getting a little sick of everyone immediately calling someone a troll if they don't like what they have to say. Take a look around, it's becoming the defacto response around here. Performance Designs Factory Team
  10. Honestly...the 2 most boring skydives I've ever done, and yes there were other wingsuit flyers. Give me my canopy and FF'ing anyday. To each their own though, it's just not for me. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  11. Ya know there's one just as fast at Thomaston every weekend right? Why make it a special occasion, just come join us for fast rides every weekend Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

I really miss Andrea, Mel, Alli, Bettina, etc., but I want to be here with my BF who is going to be going away to Iraq soon for at least 6 months. 16. Ever taken an asprin? Any FDA approved medication of any kind? If your reason for stopping eating meat is because of animals bred for a certain purpose and then dying because of that purpose then add not ever taking any medication again(for you or your family) or you're just being a hypocrite. Believe it or not I support your choice to stop eating meat. I don't agree with it personally, but there's a lot more to it that simply stopping having a sandwich. 17. So Rosa, What's your excuse for not joining us in the festivities

  21. Give it more time. When you read incident, after incident that reads EXACTLY the same, just the names change, you'll understand the "tiredness" the original poster is referring to. Wait till it happens to a couple of your friends (normally small canopies + insufficient training) I, however, prefer to call it frustration. I get frustrated on how we continue to say "this stuff happens" (Yes I know it does) but to me a double mal is "stuff happening", a poorly trained pilot hitting the ground and killing themselves isn't "stuff happening" it's a problem we can MINIMIZE (we'll never eliminate it). If a highly trained pilot fraps in, fine, they knew the risks and understood them. They pushed the envelope too far and paid the price. That's progression. Progression is NOT reinventing the wheel over and over again cause "you're a special pilot". Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  22. Sure thang. If I find myself near the area, I'll be sure to stop by and do a jump or two with "ya all" Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  23. Ron, Just replying to you, but I believe that people on both sides of the spectrum may feel the same way so what I reply goes to everyone. Wiseass, you know what I mean Then be a better debator, and focus on the issues at hand. It's easier to turn around and throw something negative that the other party has done than to focus on something postive that the candidate you're debating for has done. That quickly degenerates into a mud slinging match where the issues get lost in all the BS. I believe people are more likely to listen to what a person has to say if they don't get wrapped up in the he said/she said stuff. ANY candidate from ANY party is human, hence they've probably done some pretty shitty things and made some pretty shitty decisions in their lifetime. It's a given, so lets move on and focus on what they're doing now. I agree, but I also believe that Bush's unwaivering stance isn't the best thing either. I believe in a candidate who isn't going to flip flop when it counts, but is also man/woman enough to know when they've made a bad decision and to try and do what it takes to make the situation better. Unfortunately, we make it hard for a candidate to do that because we're incredible intolerant of mistakes and focus on the negative a lot. We are all a part of the problem too. I'm not unrealistic, I know it's an unlikely ideal to strive for, but if we never strive for it we'll never achieve it. To you Ron: I came to Z-hills to collect my beer not too long ago and you weren't there Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  24. Not related to this particular topic (Kerry's question), but just a general observation. Ron, I feel sorry for you dude and anyone who shares this "right/left" mentality I see so often displayed in these forums. I'd hate to live in your world where everything is so clearly "right" and "left". I think if both groups stopped this "left" and "right" crap, we might actually get somewhere. Till then we're stuck in this cyclical finger pointing match that gets the rest of the country no-where. The ardent "rights" and "lefts" seem incapable of presenting a point or counter point without bringing in a "left" or "right" bash. It's pretty pathetic from the outside. Grow up guys, it'd be nice to see people working together (even though they have different beliefs) instead of against one another, but somehow I doubt I'll see that in my lifetime. Anyway, I'm sure this post will be torn to shreds and the childish game will continue. Regardless you're all free to believe what you will. I just thought I'd comment on something I noticed. Flame on. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
