The way to learn how to land YOUR canopy right as a n00b, is to go land your canopy...a lot. Yes! There is no better way to learn than to do. That is true. My best landings were my last 2 which were made from a hop and pop on the last day of the seaon. But that being said...it doesn't hurt to maybe have a better sight picture. Took me all summer to work that out. And now it's winter and well...I have to rebuild it. Yes the vidoes are far from perfect but it's better than nothing. Actaully I think riding is much easier than flying. You have more controlls on a bike than in the air. You can add or reduce power for one. Also there are some rather amazing videos out there regarding learning how to ride better via body bike connection.
