Look guys I know you hate to hear it but...well it's true. The last numbers were what...15 guys / 1 girl graduated with a BS in Engineering. If you want to qualify for a given government contract you MUST have a given quantity and type of people in given locations. And well if one of those requirements is to have X number of women in Y number of spots you better hurry up and promote them or hire them to qualify for that big government deal. The same for dating. You have 1 girl to again let's say 15 guys.....over time no matter what her flaws she starts looking more and more as a catch of a life time. And well eventually a girl who could not get a drink if she paid for it is now treated as if she is a trophy girlfriend. Which is all fine and good.... The above two points are just the way life rolls. I'm not angry about it and no one should ever get angry about it. Not as if things will change any time soon. Wendy Thank you you are right. The field I'm in.....I can't tell you the number of GREAT GUYS who I've seen surrender and just sit. And then one day when I take them into NYC they get hit on by a very attractive young woman and....well....imagine a bomb going off inside a glass house. And where I currently live....oh god....a great condo complex full of old ladies....yeah! So much fun. But I hear you when respect to it being a gamble. [reply BTW, Shah, she's graduating engineering school soon. There is no profession better for a girl. She most likely spent time in class where there was 1 girl for every.....30 guys? Give or take? Where the saying between the engineers was "If her eyebrows are not connected and she's not wearing sweat pants she's hot!" Had a date on any given day. 175lbs at 5'7" I work out twice a week and practice yoga twice a week. I could be in better shape but that would mean cutting out a significant amount of carbs. Or worse...pick up running! YUCK! But I figure I fit into a size medium (32 in gut), my doctor and insurance company say I'm on the healthier side of the curve so that's a good indication that maybe I'm ok. But yeah, you are right, I should loose another 5-10lbs for my own health. And as for "what" I am looking for? A size medium, a life partner and not a liability. As for my friend....he's taller and skinner than me, works out and actually runs. He's in great shape. His wife.....I would assume she is an XL and appears to have no intention of reducing her expansions. Further more this discrepancy just isn't noticed by me. Others have also noticed it and brought it to my attention. And yeah....I'm still worried and a bit scared. How did I put it to a friend the other day?
