What confuses me is if and how Squid is listening on the internal port and translating it to the external IP and interface. You can't use a private subnet(RFC1918, 192.168.0.0) and route it to the outside world (well you can, but a properly configured firewall will ignore it) which is what it looks as if he is trying to do. a DVD can hold anywhere from 4.7 gig to 17 gigabytes of info(see here, CDR's hold 680 megs. Most CD authoring software will let you make burn a VCD (videoCD) including Nero and Adaptec (Roxio) Most newer DVD players will also play VCD formatted discs. the format is MPEG which takes up a lot of space. Heck I STILL get nervous at times. It is usually when I am doing something out of my comfort zone. There was one time (around 40 jumps or so) where I backed out of a 4 way cause I was nervous. Hmmm nope, sorry. What I do have experience with is NAT (Network Address Translation, funneling all internal IP's to one IP address on the external interface) which is what it sounds like you are trying to accomplish. I've looked at squid as a caching proxy to help speed up web page loads but was unaware that it did NAT too.. How imprtant is it to get Squid working? Or would you look at other alternatives to accomplish what you are trying to do? what OS are you running as the gateway server? I'd be glad to help, just ask away... Okay, Hypothetical question..... Lets say, you know of someone who is seriously considering trying a demo canopy, let's say a Cobalt. Now, let's also say this is a really big guy and the wingloading would be around 1.6 or so and the guy was a little less than 200 jumps. Let's also say you've talked to this guy and voiced your concern and the response is that he has been getting a lot of Canopy coaching and even thou he sounds like he knows he will have his hands full, he is still planning on doing it. What would you do? Voice your concern and let it go? Act like a Canopy Nazi and tell him and everyone else who knows him in the hopes they'll talk some sense into him? Okay, last go around on this one for me, Hobbes, I never said it was ok to be pushed, only stated that you should be ready to go at anytime, regardless. Would I want to be pushed? That'd all depend on the circumstances. And when you see it, Think of Harry O Conner who lost his life while doing one of the stunts to make it a Cool n Fun movie. I saw Reign of Fire and it was ok. I wasn't expecting a blockbuster and TBH, I was at the drive in's to hang with friends, drink beer and have a good time .I do have to say that I didn't know there was skydiving in it so I was pleasantly surprised to see it even though it was CG.
