Added... I'm actually amazed that I could get back in. It seems I had the forethought to save theSeti Web e-mail from 2 years ago with my password. A little off on my units, only 1005 done, avg 18 hours ( I had it running on 6 or 7 pc's ranging from a P166 up to a pII 450(and the occasional server)) ,haven't run the client in over 2 years. Uh... I guess so :) I was a desktop support guy there, but one of my friends who was also a sysadmin was telling me the specs on that puppy. There were 4 seperate servers clustered together, but I thought I was smart and telneted into a single node to run it. Who would have thought that people actually read the logs, Rumor had it that it went something like "What is seti and WHY is it using 98.7% of the CPU cycles? Yeah, it was an Sun 64 processor server they used to crunch some pretty complex numbers (breast cancer research). FYI, Having the Unix Admin rip you a new one in the cafeteria is a very humbling experience. Then again this was the same guy who put a personal linux box on the network to get around some closed ports (Tribes and Quake mostly) only to realize that it had taken over the gateway functions for the whole campus. I stopeed running SETI after I got in trouble for running the Solaris command line version on the production servers over the weekend. Someone was telling me that Peach Schnapps and Champagne are supposed to be really good. Haven't tried it tho... Actually , a Jump and wine tasting sounds like fun.
