Form my own experiences in quitting, there's two types of addiction with smoking, the pysical and the psychological. Most smokers have one or the other addiction. The patch works for the physical addictions, Zyban (wellbutrin, yes, an antidepressent) works for the psychological If you have medical thru your work, see if they cover smoking cessation programs, it's worth it if you really want to. SkyDance in Davis, about 1 hour north on 80, 2 caravan's Bay Area Skydiving in Byron, about an hour East, 1 king air Adventure Center Skydiving in Hollister, about 2 hours from SF, King air SkyDive Monterey Bay in Marinaabout 2 hours from SF, Twin Otter PArachute Center in Lodi. I've done the SAME thing. When I got my rig, it didn't have one, yet I jumped it. I'll have to say I was a bit paranoid and definitely more cautious on the jumps without. In hindsight, I think it was a good learning experience, because it broke my " always have a cypres" to back me up mentality, This was about when I had 50 jumps. One of my cypri (yes, I had the 2nd installed when I went to Perris, and only because I was in unfamiliar territory) 4 year check last month. I didn't hesitate to jump without it at home. as far as I was concerned, I never had a cypres to begin with. I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. It's not all it's cracked up to be.... and here's how it will actually go down... Walk in the door at 6:35 because she gets stuck in traffic, kicks the cat accidently and has to hurry to apologize. Cat is under the sofa and scratches her. Runs to bathroom to get alcohol and clean. Realizes that she hasn't turned TV on and trips over other cat while making the mad rush to the TV. Realizes that it is now 7:13, reaches for the bottle of JACK and finishes it off... RELAX DEAR, sit back and enjoy it, it's gonna be just fine, OH and you're a TV star now Hugs...
